Rambling around, just looking to connect with people and places before my knees go bad! Hoping to learn about/deepen understanding of different lifestyles and skills along the way :)

Keenly interested in all things related to living more closely with nature...off grid living, self sufficiency, permaculture/regenerative agriculture, environmental rehabilitation, etc....and want to practice skills that help support my general long term goal of one day having or being a part of a homesteading project. So far, I have been lucky enough to have had patient mentors teach me the basics of a few different tools and practical skills...I have bits of experience with laying floors, using cement for various projects, and basic woodworking skills. I'm familiar with basic carpentry tools (drills, drivers, saws, and their non-electrified counterparts) and would love the opportunity to practice using them. I am just coming out of 6months working with a gritty, dirty, trailworking conservation corps and now officially have federal certifications for wilderness first aid and a basic chainsaw felling, bucking, and maintenance.
In off time, you can find me relaxing with a book or journal, noncommittally exploring expression through an ephemeral art project, or collecting bones and rocks in the woods. That all said though, my interests are varied and I try to absorb whatever knowledge is offered in any given place I may find myself in...everywhere and everyone has something to offer, and I am happy to try anything new if only for the experience of it.

Ultimately, I am drawn to Workaway because I see work exchange as a beautiful opportunity to be involved in local communities, immerse more deeply in a different culture, learn new things, and as an attempt to travel more ethically. I am open to connecting with others and learning about new ways of living through work and cultural exchange.

Estoy viajando el mundo, esperando conectarme con personas y lugares en el camino...mientras aprendo nuevas habilidades y conocer formas de vida diferentes.

Me gustaría trabajar/aprender mas de habilidades y formas de vida que son mas cerca a la naturaleza...como la autosuficiencia, permacultura, recuperación ambiental, regeneracion etc.. Algun dia, quiero crear o formar un parte de un proyecto sostenable y me gustaria entrenar unos habilidades para ayudar con esta meta. Normalmente vivo en lugares rurales lejos de las ciudades, y siento mucho mas llena cuando puedo estar en conversacion/collaboracion con el mundo natural. Ya tengo comprension muy basico de unos trabajos practicales y sus herramientas...como trabajar con cemento, instalar pisos, y construcion de cuadras basicas. Ya puedo usar las herramientas basicas de construcion de madera (destornilladores, taladros, sierras de cortar, etc.) y me gustaria practicar usarlos. Recien, tuve un trabajo de conservación en los Estados Unidos creando senderos, y ahora tengo un certificacion profesional para usar y mantener las motosierras, y también por los auxilios primeros en lugares remotos.
En mi tiempo libre, me gusta relajar con un libro o escribir mi diario, hacer pequenos proyectos artisticos, o explorar en el bosque. Mis intereses son variadas, así aprendo lo que se ofrece en proyectos diferentes y siempre trato de ser flexible.

Veo el trabajo voluntario como una hermosa oportunidad para soportar las comunidades locales, conocer íntimamente un lugar, aprender cosas nuevas y como una forma de devolver algo mientras se viaja. Estoy abierto a conectar con otros y a aprender sobre nuevas formas de vida por el intercambio de trabajo y cultura.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

General house work and maintenance (of course cooking and cleaning), bits of permaculture/general gardening knowledge (more or less depending on landscape), forestry maintenance, some bioconstruction experience, some self sufficient/off grid living practices, and the ability to take pleasure in repetitive manual labor (e.g. stacking/laying bricks, hauling wheelbarrows of rubble, piling firewood, etc). Light construction and woodworking knowledge as well.

Professional certifications for Wilderness First Aid and Chainsaw A-level Feller and Bucker. Have professionally worked building trails for a conservation corps.

I grew up with various house pets, from rats to a 50kilo dog, and feel quite comfortable living with and taking care of animals. I've spent time in communities that also have farm animals, so I've got some basic experience caring for chickens, donkeys, horses, and cows as well.

If you're patient with my questions, I can be a fairly fast learner :)

Trabajar doméstico (limpiar, cocinar, etc.), comprensión de la permaculture (más o menos dependiente de la clima), un poco de experiencia construir con las materiales biologicales/locales, y las practicas de autosuficiencia en teoría (depende la infraestractura). Crecí con mascotas en la casa, de ratas a un perro de 80kilos, y estoy comfortable vivir con y cuidarlos. También he vivido con burros, gallinas, cabellos, vacas, y otras animales del finca

Was noch ...

I've done various work exchanges with and without the Workaway platform...from bartending in Mexico to a permaculture project in a commune in Guatemala...it has always felt like an enriching way to see the world, opening doors to cultural and lingual exchange, and I am excited to do more:)

I'm a pretty easygoing person and haven't had problems living in close quarters with other people. Though I have many introverted tendencies and often settle into solitary activities when left to my own devices, community and authentic connection are very important me...I strive to know and be known, and to leave my connections more beautiful in every interaction.

He participado en unos proyectos de intercambio antes de usando Workaway. Desde atender un bar en México a un proyecto de permacultura en Guatemala...siempre parece una forma buena de viajar y conocer un lugar. Estoy emocionada a explorar más :)

Estoy una persona bastante tranquila, vivo y comunico con otros fácilmente. En mi tiempo libre, normalmente hago actividades solitarios, pero la comunidad y conexiones autenticos son muy importantes para mi vida.
