Hi, I'm Sil,

I was born and raised on a houseboat in the middle of nature. One of my favorite things to do is spend time outdoors with the elements.

I like water sports: windsurfing, kitesurfing and wing foiling. I enjoy working with the wind and the water: the waves, the wind direction, the weather, it is never the same. You can collaborate with the elements, sometimes the wind or the waves are the boss. I love the game to try and get the most out of the circumstances. I practice these sports on the lake where I live and on the North Sea nearby.

Another passion of mine is the mountains. For me, skiing is one of the most beautiful ways to be in the mountains. The mountains make me a feel like coming home, even though I come from the flat Netherlands.

I also love music, I used to play in a band (guitar). I also play a little piano every now and then and make music myself in FLstudio.

- Curious, not afraid to get wet cold or tired, kind, sometimes a bit shy at the beginning but that never lasts long once I feel at home.


WORK EXPERIENCE:

WINDSURF INSTRUCTOR | SURFSCHOOL VEERSEDAM | JULY - OCTOBER 2023
As a windsurfing instructor you represent the surfing school. The responsibility lies with you. You must make your lesson fun and educational so that students get as much out of it as possible. I gave windsurfing lessons there to children and adults, often in German.

RENTAL ASSOCIATE | WATERSPORTCENTER DYNAMIQUE | MAY 2021 - SEPTEMBER 2023
As a rental associate you are responsible for renting the SUPs, canoes and motorboats. You ensure that customers have everything they need, that they understand everything and that they return on time. You also do small jobs in and around the site.

ASSISTENT | WINGFOIL HAARLEM | SEPTEMBER - OKTOBER 2023
As an assistant at wingfoil Haarlem, you ensure that all the equipment is ready for the students and tenants. You also receive guests and ensure that they are fully prepared for their lesson or rental. If people get into trouble on the water, you pick them up with a motorboat.

KITCHEN HELP | PAVILJOEN LOEF | MAY 2021 - OKTOBER 2023
As a kitchen assistant, I was a dishwasher for the first two years. And this year I helped in the kitchen preparing the food. So, I prepared the plates and made salads and dishes.

SKI RENTAL| SNOWWORLD AMSTERDAM| MAY 2020
I had a short internship at the ski rental of Snowworld, indoor ski-center Amsterdam. I trained there myself weekly for freestyle skiing. I wax my own ski’s and know a bit about the bindings.

Was noch ...

This year I passed my high school exams. After six years of school, I wanted to do something else than sit inside and study. So at the moment I'm in a gap year. Therefore I am very flexible: Until May 2024 I'm available during weekends, holidays and for a longer period.
