Hi there!

My name is Sebastian, I'm an editor by profession, 33 years old and I want to explore new perspectives on life. I'm a very easy-going person, peaceful, a passionate cook, and I don't mind spending time with myself, although I love long conversations with friends and late night get-togethers.

I believe in the power of education. I love to learn new things, new techniques, and new perspectives myself. Likewise, I'm happy to pass on what I've learned so far, give advice or lend a hand when I'm asked to.

I've worked with different companies and media outlets pretty much straight for the past 9 years, and I'm kind of exhausted by the way the employer-employee system works. So, I am also looking to find alternative approaches to making a living. Meanwhile, I'm volunteering at a non-profit organization as a mentor for a migrant kid (9 yo), teach them German and just be there for them.

I'm fluent in German, which is my mother tongue, and English, which I've gotten up to a really good level when I lived in New York City. I can converse in French, too, but need some time find my way back into it. I also understand a decent amount of Spanish since I've shared an apartment with Mexicans.

I hope to spend a good time with you, my hosts, with other workawayers and all the passengers along the journey.

Dear hosts,

I'll keep it short and dense to give you an overview - please don't hesitate to ask questions! Here are some skills and experiences:

- I'm holding a Bachelor's degree in American Studies and lived in the US, and in Germany, I've finished training and worked for years as a journalist in both print and digital formats. So I can teach English and German to kids and adults, both in conversational style or with a deeper grammatical approach - whichever suits best!

- During college I've tutored kids, mostly in English and German, and I'm currently volunteering to help a migrant child learn German. I feel comfortable to teach or spend time with and around kids. My approach towards kids is basically to be very patient with them and to try to enable them to become problem solvers.

- I'm a passionate cook! And I believe in fresh ingredients. Since cooking is something you improve everytime you do it, I would say I've become quite decent over the years. (No one has complained yet, haha!) I know my way around the kitchen and can fix dishes from scratch, so I can be of help around the house.

- I've worked in Social Media for four years, so if you run a business and are unexperienced in promoting it on Social Media, I'd be happy to give advice on strategy and content creation.

- I don't mind getting my hands dirty, so if there's outdoor work to do, f. e. gardening of any sort, I'd be happy to help out.

- During my college years, one of my jobs was to clean the house of an older lady, so I also don't mind doing daily chores such as cleaning, dish washing or grocery shopping.
