Hi!

I'm Savas, 23 years old from Australia! I've been stuck at home over the past two years due to the pandemic but have finally left home to travel long term for hopefully a year :). I'm born and raised in Melbourne but I have lived in the USA for a year studying on exchange.

I don't have a lot of workaway experience yet but I'm really looking forward to sharing my skills and passions with the lovely people I will meet. When it comes to a workaway I really love hands on work doing DIY building and maintenance projects. I also have lots of experience in software development although I don't think many people need help with that!

When I'm not working I really enjoy listening to and playing music (I play trumpet and some piano), any kind of social boardgames or cardgames, and of course travelling and exploring new places :).

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have lots of experience working with people. I've worked in a hospital in the Emergency Department back home for two years, and as a receptionist and tutor for half as long, so I find it very easy to get along with and help just about anyone! My more formal experience is in the field of programming, low-level computing and software development, so if there's a computer involved I'm more than happy to get stuck into it! As mentioned earlier I've been practicing and performing trumpet for about 8 years, and piano intermittently for twice as long, so if there's an instrument around I'm usually happy to join in....

The rest of my experience is informal - my parents renovated and moved around a lot so I spent a lot of time helping out my dad working on the house :). I've worked on plenty of projects with friends, including, but not limited to; a 3 metre tall trebuchet, an electric go kart, and a hydroponics system among others. We also have owned several pets throughout my time growing up including cats, dogs, and even a couple reptiles!

In my time workawaying, I've been able to improve my construction skills and worked on my welding!
