Beschreibung

I am Eugene, a 60 yr old man from Ireland. I have had a few different careers in my working life from teaching Physical Education, social work - living in community with people with intellectual difficulties, working in construction and developing a business working with wood. I have also been teaching yoga and meditation for 25 yrs.
I love traveling, not as a tourist, but in a way that I can engage with people, experience the culture and exchange.
I have lived and worked abroad. For the past 30 yrs I lived in Ireland. I built my own house, developed my own business working with wood, raised my family. They are living their own lives now and it’s an opportunity to explore more dreams and possibilities.
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with young people. I love working with young people, creating and exchanging.
I am very interested in work and projects that involves recycling, up cycling and sustainability, connecting with and respecting the planet.
I'm a qualified teacher, though I have never thought in mainstream education, I have thought yoga and meditation.
Two years ago I travelled through South East Asia for 6 months and had some experiences teaching English, through Workaway.
I have been a Workaway HOST for 5 years also.
I am nervous and excited to make some new experiences in Africa.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have many skills and experience in many areas of construction. I have worked with 25 yrs with wood.
I have been studying and teaching yoga and meditation for over 30 yrs.
I have a teaching degree though I haven used it in a formal school setting for many years.
I have a lot of experience cleaning. I get excited about cleaning. Think it’s one of the most important things for wellbeing and also energetically creating a welcoming atmosphere in a place.
I am very creative, passionate and love to do things to the best of my ability. I like to try and bring a positive attitude to everything I do.
From being a host I have good insight into what is required from a helper in order to contribute in a positive way to the project.

Was noch ...

I have a lot of knowledge and experience In construction but have an issue with rheumatoid arthritis which has affected my hands. I am restricted with some physical work. Where I cannot do I can instruct very well someone with little experience. I did a lot of this in my Workaway experience as a host.
I am stepping into the stage in my life of being an elder. Being a good example/role model of how to enjoy and live the life is something that excites me.
