Beschreibung

We are Jack (UK, 30) and Sarah (Australia, 28) - a couple of explorers eager to learn and discover as much as we can about our glorious planet.

After years of working in scientific and creative industries, we both decided to leave our jobs and travel full-time. Jack has a PhD in biological sciences and earned a lot of valuable experience through his field work and job as a teacher at the university. Sarah studied cultural heritage conservation and carries a background in fine art and administration. We're both TEFL qualified, have years of hospitality experience, and always relish the chance to get our hands dirty in any and all manual tasks. For the past eight months we have been teaching English and science at a bilingual school in Quito, Ecuador, and are now embarking on our next adventure.

We are both very active (keen yogis and very amateur divers!!) and love immersing ourselves in local cultures and environments, as well as having a keen interest in sustainable/green living. We have joined Workaway to meet wonderful people and connect with communities all around the globe, gain new skills and share our genuine love for the beauty of the world and all we have to offer it.

We're both TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certified and would be interested in teaching English. Over the last 8 months, we have both been teaching at a bilingual school in Quito, Ecuador, where we taught English and science. Jack also has multiple years of science teaching experience at a university level.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We're both enthusiastic and hard working individuals, who hope to spread good vibes wherever we go. Keen to take initiative and get stuck into whatever jobs/tasks we can find, as well as meet new people and have good chats when the work is done.

Sarah brings a creative flair and a knack for organisation to the table. With a background in administration and fine arts, Sarah can handle intricate logistics and aims to add an artistic touch to everything she tries her hand at.

Jack has a background predominantly in biological sciences (particularly zoology/conservation), and is passionate about anything to do with nature and the environment. From his PhD, he has experience in research, writing, publishing, and science communication. Jack also got used to getting his hands dirty during extended periods of field work. He has also been teaching at a university for the past few years.

We are keen gardeners back home. Living in a city we struggled with space but came up with creative solutions to maximise what we could. We loved growing some fruit and veggies to have in dinners, and we were particularly proud of our passion fruit vine and chilli plants.

We're also keen cooks. Jack tends to do more of the dinners, whereas Sarah is a specialist in all that is sweet and baked. Although we cook primarily vegetarian food, we have experience in cooking all sorts of cuisine.

Jack can play the guitar and although is a bit shy playing in public, can be convinced to play on occasion...

We're both friendly, polite, punctual, and like to keep our spaces tidy and clean.

Was noch ...

We both love hiking and splashing about in the ocean. We're avid Catan players, enjoy backgammon and are keen to embrace any table top card game that comes our way.

Jack loves music and plays the guitar, enjoys kicking around a football and being sporty in general.

Sarah loves reading, doing yoga and planning our next adventure!
