Hi!

I'm Sami and I'm currently 27. I've spent my life in Canada and grew up in a diverse area which I love! I'm an easy-going, open-minded, forever-curious person and get along well with everyone. Currently, my short-term goals in life are exploring more of the world, meeting new people from all over, learning new skills, and perfecting my spoken French.

After graduating from engineering school, I worked a few corporate jobs over the years, but I decided to give up that path recently to see what other possibilities await me. I left my most recent job at a brewery to travel the world in 2023. During my travels this year, I visited around 10 countries and recently discovered Workaway at a hostel and love the concept! My style of travel is more slow-paced and focused on making new, lasting connections, learning and experiencing local cultures, and giving back to the local community. I feel very connected to nature and love serene surroundings and open, green spaces like forests, parks, and gorges. I lived by the Rocky Mountains in Canada for a few years and managed to take full advantage of the surrounding beauty. I adore hiking, biking, and all kinds of water sports. I am more of an appreciator of art then a creator, and love exploring museums, exhibits, and galleries.

I’ve travelled to Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Jordan, Hong Kong, France, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Ireland, England, Scotland, China, Spain, Pakistan, USA, and many places in Canada of course!

I’d love to visit the Philippines, Germany, Austria, Morocco, Egypt, Tanzania, Turkey, Croatia, Bulgaria, Albania, Romania, Hungary, Greece, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Corsica, Réunion, Poland, Madagascar, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and many more!

-I have some basic experience with gardening, landscaping, and DIY projects.
-I have worked various manual labor jobs over the years and am comfortable working with my hands or doing physically demanding work.
-I tutored high-school and university students in math, science, and English for many years and love teaching in general.
-I love working with all kinds of animals and would be happy to lend a hand in any farm.

Was noch ...

I'm a huge fan of all kinds of music but mostly rock, jazz, and hip-hop. Concerts and music performances occupy many of my evenings! I enjoy board games, arcades, and video games from time to time. I love being near the coast and you'll often find me by the beach or water.

I love trying new things in general and often attend events in my local community.
