My favorite thing to do is play with my grandchildren. Our activities include crafts, sewing, cooking and playing outside. When conversing, I will use both English and Italian languages with them.
Beschreibung
Life is so unpredictable. As a young mom, I raised two daughters in Southern California all while working for a branch of the US Government. Twenty six years later an opportunity arose where my employer offered an early retirement package which I accepted. I took on a minimalist lifestyle and in 2023 moved to Sicily then in 2024 moved to Northern Italy with my extended family. My favorite thing to do is travel to different towns, taking photos, eating amazing food and meeting new people from all over the world. I've had so many wonderful conversations with people I met on the bus, train station, coffee shops, just anywhere and now looking back, I would have never imagined my life the way it currently is today. One of the people I met introduced me to the workaway web site and I now am looking forward to meeting new friends and helping out wherever possible.

Was könntest du arbeiten?
One of the best examples I can give for my skill level is when I helped out the DePaul family. Before moving to Italy, I lived in upstate New York for a short while and worked part time jobs to keep busy (I am not a sit still kind of person). The DePauls (husband wife and daughter) each have a type of dwarfism. The family posted online needing help with just laundry. I began working for them and stayed with them until I moved overseas. My duties went well beyond laundry. My afternoons were spent helping with small maintenance projects, cleaning up the house, sewing, running errands, helping with their pets (dogs and bearded dragons) on occasion cooking and spending quality time together. This was more than a job, they became my family. Nicole would sometimes have a task list for me, but for the most part I would basically walk in the house and just start, as I knew exactly where to begin, multitasking along the way.

My hobbies include sewing, painting (paint by numbers), watching Italian movies on Netflix and I enjoy playing italian cards (Scopa) with the neighbors. I also enjoy going on nature walks and spending time outdoors.
