Hi there!

Welcome to our profile :) We are a happy couple from the Netherlands and in november 2025 we will go on an adventure in France and who knows where else for a few months. We are looking for several workaway places to spend some time, learn about the place, develop (new) skills and get to know new people. We are very excited to go on this adventure together. We will be traveling either by car or campervan.


Roos (31):
I'm a calm and sensitive woman and I'd love to learn more about building stuff, DIY, how to take care of goats and permaculture. I have quiet some experience in babysitting, cleaning, cooking and hospitality related tasks. Even though I don't mind doing more of that, I would also like to broaden my horizon.

I have used WorkAway a lot during my travels in Southern Europe in 2019 and 2020, and later in 2022 in Costa Rica. I love slow travel and WorkAway has been very helpful in manifesting that. It works great for me to take some time in one place, getting to know the flow of the place, the people.

I like to do spontaneous things, I love to dance, being in nature (especially forest), laugh, drink herbal teas and cacao. I listen mostly to reggae and dub music. I'm interested in the body and mind connection, improving health, non violent communication, herbalism and grounding.

A few other things about me:
- Transparent and open communication. I'm interested in what drives people, what is behind certain behaviors and feelings. I'm interested in finding ways how we can connect, even though maybe our values and ideals aren't the same. I like people to be clear and to the point with me.
- Having enough quiet time to recharge is important for me. I love being social and also it takes sometimes more energy from me than i'd like to. Anyway I also love silence generally ;)
- I'm not a smoker and not a party-animal
- I love meat, old cheese and dark chocolate and I barely eat processed food
- I like to stay curious; there is so much more than meets the eye

Alwin (42):
I'm a calm, down to earth guy, but I'm fully aware of the fact there's a lot more than just this "physical" realm. I enjoy nature and the peace and quiet as well as sometimes visiting the bigger cities for some excitement. I'm very international, having grown up and lived abroad in several countries. 

Together with Roos I would like to setup and live in an off-grid/self-sustainable home. I would like to use the workaway experiences to gather the necessary skills and experiences to be able do this. In my free time I enjoy being out in nature, listening (and producing) techno music as well as working with cryptocurrencies. 

I'm trustworthy, kind and patient, a fast learner and I work well alone as well as with others.  

I don't smoke, but do drink an occasional glass of alcohol. I enjoy eating organic foods as well as meat and lots of chocolate :-)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Roos:
I have a lot of experience in social work and working in hospitality. I have done quite some workaways in retreat centers/airbnb/monastery. Im a good cleaner with an eye for details. I like to make people feel welcome and comfortable.

It's important for me to live in a clean and organised space so I would be happy to help you declutter.

I would love to learn more about building and construction and living selfsufficiently. Also it would be amazing to work a lot with animals, I'm especially interested in goats :)
I'm also very interested in medicinal plants and natural living and i like to make my own health and beauty products

And I'm always open to learn new things and I pick them up easily. I like hard physical work as well, just not all the time. I like varierity in my work.


Alwin:
I used to work in corporate finance for a fortune 500. After quite some years I realized I no longer wanted to be part of the "rat race" and decided to leave the corporate world. Since then I've been enjoying life and have found myself doing different jobs. I spent a few summer seasons behind the reception for a vacation park in the Netherlands. 

I spent 5 months off grid on a mountain in the French Pyrenees where I helped a Dutch couple renovate an old ruin and take care of the land and animals.  

I have good computer & financial skills, so if needed I can also help with admin tasks.  

Skills I would like to improve and/or learn are: construction and renovation, becoming fully self-sufficient/off grid (working with farm animals, setting up and living off arable land, producing dairy products, etc..) and other things which I'm probably not yet aware of at this moment ;-)
