I'm always eager to get fully stuck into something new, working with people who are going to show me new ways of looking at the world and help me become a more rounded, kind person.

I've always taken an 'unexpected' path in life, and believe that it's important to continually challenge ourselves and push ourselves out of our comfort zones. Travel is a huge part of that - I love seeing new places.

I grew up working odd jobs to pay my way through school and, later, university. I've never shied away from hard work and are always willing to get stuck in. During University I was in the Royal Naval Reserve and, after graduating, I worked with them to both train cadets and promote charity work in schools in the UK.

Recently I've been an assistant director in the film industry. I worked for 3 years in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at Disney, and afterwards for Netflix on 'The Crown' . The work was practical and very varied, which I liked, though I am now looking to take time out once again to travel and experience different areas of the world.

My hobbies include DIY / woodwork / metalwork, scuba diving, swimming, working with animals and reading. I worked in tourism as a London tour guide, and love meeting new people. I'm also a keen surfer... though I'm not very good at it!

I've lived mainly in the UK with stints in the UK and Australia. Currently I'm doing a fantastic Workaway working in a retreat in New Zealand, and am eager to do more Workaways soon.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

- Building / practical / DIY - A huge hobby of mine has been in film / move set construction. I am a practised hand with saws, drills, painting techniques and even lathes and other metalworking tools. I'm certainly not professional, but I think I'm competent!

- People skills - For 5 years I've worked part time as a tour guide, showing tourists around London. I like to think that I'm a good people-person and have the ability to strike up a conversation with almost anybody.

- Medical - I am a qualified lifeguard and first aider. I also worked for a medical training company in care homes for the elderly.

- Military discipline / Sea skills - As I was part of the Navy, I am a qualified sailor, boat driver, SCUBA diver, drill instructor, navigator. I'm also very used to 4 am starts and 18 hour days.

- Physically fit / outdoor skills - I am physically fit, with a decent level of strength and am very used to working outdoors with long days. I have worked on farms, organised miles-long walking tours, and work to remain fit for lifeguarding duties.

- History - I have a love of history, which encouraged me to go to university. My specialist subject is London history, but I have written articles and researched in other areas.

Was noch ...

- I'm a huge movie fan. I got into the industry as I was fascinated by how they were made, and have spent years in the mad, challenging world of film production. No two days are the same, and I've had to learn to be ultra-flexible. I've become most interested in the scripted process, and now work on the side as a 'script reader', vetting scripts for upcoming TV projects.

- I'm a big 'Settlers of Catan' fan. I enjoys 'Monopoly'... so long as it doesn't last more than a day!

- I'm a big reader. Of everything. Fiction, non-fiction, educational etc. I try to absorb as much knowledge as I can, partially because I think it improves me as a person... and partially because I like winning quizzes.

- I've read 'Lord of the Rings' A LOT. Too much, my girlfriend tells me. But I refuse to stop. I like Gimli.

- I consider myself not fussy, I like a laugh and I hope I'm easy to get on with.
