Hello! We are Pierce (28) and Jordy (23), a couple from Australia. We are avid travellers who have just spent the last year and a half living and working as supervisors in a remote lodge in Canada, and are now travelling our way through Europe for the foreseeable future.

Our past travels have not involved workaway, however after hearing stories from close friends we are so excited to join in! We met whilst working on Hamilton Island, Queensland, and from then we have not stopped travelling. We lived in our car Snoopy (1992 Toyota Troopcarrier) for 2 years whilst driving and working our way around Australia. From then we moved onto Canada, road tripping and camping on our weekend whilst living in a remote area of the Rocky Mountains.

We are very outdoor driven people who love being in the sunshine and open air. We prefer rural areas, avoiding large cities where we can. For our Europe adventure, we are excited to find small and intimate work aways to get this experience. We are excited for the opportunity to have this experience anywhere across Europe, and hope to do several workaways throughout multiple countries.

Whilst we love being in the mountains, the ocean is where our heart is. Pierce is an avid diver and boater, working as a commercial diver and skipper, and spearfishing every opportunity he gets. Jordy enjoys life on the beach, reading, painting, sunbaking, snorkelling and swimming. Whilst working in hospitality for the past 8 years, she has gained incredible interpersonal and conversational abilities. Although we do have somewhat of a career, we absolutely love to do any random job out there! We have dabbled in front desk, housekeeping, painting, maintenance, renovating and everything else we can.

All in all, we are very friendly, lucky go happy and kind people who look out for our mates like they're family. We love being social and meeting new people, however love our time together exploring new areas.We are very adaptable and capable people who would be a great asset to any workaway. We always give 100% of our effort no matter what the task is.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We are both very versatile people, adaptable to a lot of different situations and jobs, and this has been complemented a lot in our previous 4 years of travelling (working in many different jobs). Alongside one another, we have worked in cleaning, housekeeping, vineyard maintenance, lodge maintenance, small house renovations, hospitality (both bartending and serving, from a pub to a 5 star train and lodge). We are very quick learners, and are always keen to give anything a go! Although we only speak fluent English, we have vey good interpersonal skills and both radiate a very happy demeaner.

Jordy definitely has more experience in the hospitality side of things. She has been a barista for a long time (makes incredible coffees) and moved into serving and supervising from there. She is a very quick learner who is always eager to try and learn a new job, and always gives it 100%.

Prior to travelling, Pierce worked in the marine industry for the previous 7 years. He started off Commercial Diving and went into Boat Skippering soon after, working as a skipper in both tourism and commercial environments for many years. In Australia, he is licensed to drive commercial vessels up to 24 meters (78 foot) and be the head egineer of engines up to 750kW. The combination of diving and skippering has given him a variety of skills that are versatile to many different jobs.

When we first met, rebuilt and fit out a Toyota Troopcarrier together. This involved a lot of labour, everything from mechanical work and rebuilding the car itself, to basic carpentry and painting for the interior set up. We lived in this car in close proximity to eachother for the following 2 years.

In regards to pets, Jordy absolutely loves cats and knows how to look after them very well. Pierce grew up with a dog, birds and fish and can happily caretake all of these.

We are good with kids and can entertain them easily. We can cook, clean and maintain a home or boat without an issue.

Was noch ...

We love to socialise and play both card games and board games. We are always keen for a chat and to be social with anyone.

We love to be outside, especially by the ocean. If there are fish in the ocean and a fishing rod or speargun, Pierce will happily collect dinner every night!
