Hi! My name is Petra, I’m from Hungary. I joined the Workaway community because I want to learn languages (especially Norwegian and English), and I also want to help others with useful work — people who care about creating value and building community.

Right now I am in a turning point in my life: I am changing both my profession and my personal path. I’m looking for new experiences where I can try new things — like learning languages, meeting different cultures, and doing physical work. These are exciting for me.

I worked for more than 20 years as a land surveyor and cartographer. I also renovated several of my own homes — painting, fixing walls, putting together furniture, installing floors, etc. I’ve always been interested in architecture and interior design in different cultures. I studied web design for 2 years, and I walked the entire El Camino. I’ve also been doing personal development for many years.I lived for a year in a retreat house where we meditated a lot, but that was a long time ago.

I sometimes volunteer for a sustainability project (beeco.hu), where I help with maps, workshops, and website tasks. I lived in Austria for one year and speak intermediate German. I also know some Swedish because of my family.

I live an active life. I enjoy sailing, biking, hiking, photography, squash, and reading. I’m a member of Mensa — I love thinking, learning, and growing. I am a curious and open person, always looking for new experiences.

I’m happy to help with any kind of housework, technical tasks or creative projects. I look forward to meeting new people and learning together!

I worked for more than 20 years as a land surveyor and mapmaker. I also renovated several of my own homes — painting, fixing walls, putting together furniture, installing floors, and more. I’ve always loved architecture and interior design from different cultures.
I studied web design for 2 years, worked as a receptionist in a pilgrim hostel (after walking the Camino), and I have been interested in personal development for many years.

Now I volunteer in a sustainability project (beeco.hu). I help with map-making, workshops, and website tasks. I lived in Austria for one year and I speak intermediate German. I also speak a little Swedish because of my family.

Right now I am at a turning point in my life — I am changing my job and my lifestyle. I’m looking for new experiences, where I can try new things. For me, learning languages, connecting with different cultures, and doing physical work are all interesting and exciting.

I live an active life. My hobbies are sailing, biking, hiking, photography, squash, and reading. I also enjoy cooking vegetarian meals for others. That’s why I once had a small garden full of vegetables.
I am a member of Mensa — I like thinking, learning, and growing. I am a curious and open person, always looking for new experiences. But I also need some quiet time alone sometimes, because I am more introverted. I like relaxing walks and peaceful moments to reflect.

I’m happy to help with housework, technical or creative projects. I’m really looking forward to meeting new people!
