Hi we are Laura (Beth) and Owen, two friends from University :)

Hi I'm Laura, but I prefer to be called Beth :)

I have just graduated from the University of York after studying Law for the last 3 years with Owen. I currently live in a small town in Wales right by the seaside, so love the outdoors and exploring new areas!

I grew up in Wales but have had the opportunity to visit and explore large areas across the UK as my family come from both Northern Ireland and England!

I am a very social, outgoing and hardworking person, who enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring new areas, and meeting new people. My aim is to explore and emerse myself in new cultures and experiences. I am also keen to exchange and develop on skills and interests with others throughout this experience!

Before starting university, I took a year out to do a little bit of travelling and continue working. Some of the places I had the opportunity to travel to included Austria, Italy, Hungary, and Czechia.

I have been a barista for the last 5 years, a job which required me to work hard while in a team in order to fund my degree, I also have experience working with young children.

Some of my hobbies include baking/cooking, reading, art and music. I would love to have the chance to exchange hobbies and put my creativity to some good use (or even share recipes/cook with anyone if interested)!

Hi I'm Owen :)
I was born in Blackburn (England) but have spent the last 3 years studying law with Beth in York. In order to help fund myself at university, I have spent four years working in a warehouse alongside working shorter term office jobs and completing workaways (although this is my first time with Beth!)

I am excited to travel to new places, meet new people and experience new cultures. My main hobbies include playing/watching football, hiking and generally spending as much time as I can outdoors.

- We both speak English (Native) and Beth is able to share a little bit of Welsh and would be happy to share our skills
-General outdoors skills (gardening, cleaning etc)
- Good with animals, both have pets (we both have dogs and Beth even used to have ducks!)
- Happy to help around the house and assist with cooking
-Interested in photography and can help out with social media
- In general, we are both open-minded and happy to learn any new skills :)
