Beschreibung

Hi,
my name is Oskar, 23 years old and from Germany. I recently completed my Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics in Berlin.
My education and upbringing were shaped by different cultures: I attended a French school, spent a year living near Paris, and later moved to Marrakesh with my mother and brother, where I went to a local Arabic school.

During my studies I got into endurance sports such as jogging, road cycling, hiking, and going to the gym, which helped me balance university life and enjoy time on my own. Cycling in particular led to spontaneous weekend trips and eventually to a solo ride from Stockholm to the North Cape last September.

Now that I have more time, I want to extend my solo travels worldwide. I enjoy being part of the daily rhythm of the places I stay and am happiest when I have meaningful work to do. Working locally allows me to better understand people, culture, and everyday routines, develop new skills, and connect with the community. I also like learning new languages and contributing in practical, hands-on ways wherever I go.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I’d describe myself as a bit of a multitool: I enjoy switching between practical tasks and organizational work. I have experience with general household duties, gardening, small construction projects, IT support, marketing, and managing bookings. I pick things up quickly, am highly organized, and enjoy structured work.

During my school years in Berlin, I spent many weekends remodeling our cottage together with my father, adding a porch, plastering exterior walls, repairing the roof, and building a greenhouse. My father also taught me how to use tools and machinery for construction, as well as gardening skills such as shaping and cutting trees, trimming bushes, and pollinating tomato plants. I have lived both alone and in shared flats, so I know how to cook, share meals, and maintain a clean and organized living space.

Next to university, I ran a small IT business helping elderly people in Berlin with basic IT tasks like fixing printers or setting up bank cards. I also occasionally built websites using WordPress, designed logos and business cards, and helped local businesses improve their Google SEO.

Having moved a lot in my life, I adapt quickly to new people and environments. I’m calm, independent, and settle into new routines easily while connecting well with both people and animals.
These frequent moves also gave me extensive driving experience with various rental cars and moving trucks over long distances. In addition, I have experience managing practical logistics and bookings, including selling cars, finding tenants, and organizing apartment viewings.

In my free time, I love taking photos, focusing on people, sports scenes and architecture, often combining this hobby with cycling, jogging or skiing.

Was noch ...

Some things I love additionally:
I really enjoy being around animals, especially dogs and horses. I once spent a week on a horse-breeding farm in Michigan, USA, and absolutely loved it. I often just sat with the horses and enjoyed their presence.

I’m also very into everything related to coffee. I even attended a few barista lectures about coffee-bean agriculture and latte art.

Whenever I come across old cultures or historical topics, I love diving deeper into them. Unfortunately, I don’t always have enough time, but when I’m on a train or airplane, I usually end up reading about the Roman Empire or Greek culture and architecture. It’s a small, "secret" hobby of mine that I’m not fully living out at the moment, but I’d love to explore it more whenever I have the time or chance.
