Currently at a workaway in Tauraunga with my partner Seb (our accounts are linked) :). Spending Christmas in Gisborne, then looking to travel to Northland in the new year.

Beschreibung

In November, my partner Sebastian and I will move to New Zealand, Aotearoa, and I couldn't be more excited! I have been travelling on and off for the past year. At the end of 2023, I spent 3 months solo-travelling southern Europe and experienced my first workaways in Portugal and Spain. I love exploring off the beaten track, immersing myself in nature, and being part of communities that live differently. I am really interested in sustainable systems of living and want to learn how I can better my relationship with this beautiful world we live in. Above all else, I want to challenge myself, help others, and see where the adventure takes me :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I am enthusiastic, hard-working and up for new challenges. I first experienced workaway last winter and completely threw myself into every opportunity presented to me. Some of the projects I took part in included: building a stone wall, harvesting and curing olives, cultivating an acre of land, baking bread, cooking for 20+ people, building a mosaic path, fixing an irrigation system, and wiring an electric fence. I really want to continue to expand my DIY and horticultural skills, especially the art of growing veggies and feeling more confident with construction. I have been vegan for 7 years and am passionate about environmentalism, animal welfare, and sustainable living. My previous workaways had strong spiritual cores, which is also something I am also interested in. I love talking about life and being exposed to new perspectives.

I have experience house-sitting, pet-sitting and child-minding. I have worked with young children, including experience with children of different abilities and languages. As a dog owner myself, I am very comfortable with animals. At a previous workaway, I was in charge of three 60–75 kg Portuguese mountain dogs and absolutely loved it! Since I was 18 I have worked in restaurants and a myriad of other customer service roles, I am confident cooking, cleaning, and work well with other people.

I achieved a First Class degree studying English at university and so I feel very confident in my ability to teach English. I also studied film and, aside from travelling, filmmaking is my biggest passion. I am most interested in documentary and experimental filmmaking. Since I was 16 I have been making videos of my life and now I want to explore bigger ideas and lives beyond my own. I am a lover of all the arts and would love to spend more of my time being creative.
