I'm in Central Portugal helping with beekeeping and gardening. I just finished a permaculture project in Tuscany where I worked with bees, olives, and chestnuts. I'm looking for work until May 12!

Hi I am Oliver but most people call me Ollie.

I just graduated college and honestly I am just looking to get out into the world and get my hands dirty. I am not really interested in just being a tourist who sees the sights. I want a cultural exchange where I live in new places and understand how they work. I am a pretty easy going person and I really value the honest connections you make with people after a long day of hard work. For me traveling is about pushing myself and just being kind to everyone I meet along the way.

When I am not working you can usually find me outside running or hiking or just somewhere quiet with a book enjoying my surroundings. I am genuinely excited to learn about things like beekeeping, sustainable farming, and animal care because I love being part of the process of seeing things grow. I am very easy to get along with and always down to try something new whether that is the local food or a task I have never done before. I just want to work hard and be helpful and hopefully leave your place a little better than I found it.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I am a hard working college grad who is ready to help out with just about anything. I grew up around agriculture spending time on my grandfathers sheep farm in England which gave me a lot of respect for that lifestyle and the work it takes to run a farm. More recently I have been volunteering at community farms in San Francisco where I have spent plenty of hours weeding and planting and moving soil.

I am also really comfortable working with kids because I spent time in a reading buddies program helping children with their books and teaching literacy. Around the house I can definitely help with cooking or cleaning and general DIY projects. I like figuring out how to fix things and I am always down to help with eco projects.

Since I played soccer in college I am very physically fit and I am used to being on my feet in all types of weather. I am a fast learner and I genuinely enjoy being taught a new skill. Whether it is manual labor or beekeeping or helping out in the kitchen I am happy to jump in. I am fluent in English and know a little bit of Spanish and I am just an easy going and happy person to be around. I pride myself on being kind and reliable and I am ready to be a productive member of your team.

Was noch ...

When the workday is over, I’m usually doing something to stay active or creative. I’m really into yoga, running, and hiking. Basically, if it’s outdoors and keeps me moving, I’m into it. That said, I also really value my downtime. I love nothing more than a quiet afternoon reading, doing a bit of embroidery, or just sunbathing and taking in the surroundings. I’m also a big fan of cooking and love the energy of a shared kitchen.

I’m a naturally happy person and I genuinely enjoy meeting new people. I’m the type who loves hearing people's stories and having those deep, meaningful conversations that happen when you’re really connecting with a new place. I’m easy to get along with and just as happy chatting over a meal as I am being a quiet, helpful presence in the home.
