Hi everyone

My name is Nienke born, raised and living in the Netherlands. Currently, I am living in a small city in the North of the Netherlands, where I moved to after high school to study Biology and Medical Laboratory Science. I always had a big interest for biology, in particular the human body and nutrition, and science related to that subject. And I always thought that that was what life wanted from me. But due to all the craziness in the world, I stood still for a while, thought a lot, and realized that there is so much more to discover outside the regular studying and working 9-5 life. It would be a waste, in my opinion, if I don’t go out and explore those different experiences, meet new people and gain some new perspectives on life. I am seeing more and more how important it is, speaking for myself, just to live in the moment and go wherever/do whatever your gut feeling is saying. And for now my gut is telling me this: create an account on workaway and discover what is more out there!

I am really keen to learn a lot of new skills, especially skills that has to do with working with your hands, like construction, gardening, etc. But some basic skills I do know is how to cook, which I really like doing, and since a little while the basics of playing guitar. Music plays a big part in my life, I am almost always listening to music, since it is a way of connecting with others, expressing your feelings without words and just in general makes me so happy, so for me it was a skill I needed to learn. I like to work hard for something and know that my hard work will contribute to something and I am really excited to find out where I can put my energy in.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

A skill of mine is cooking, just as hobby, and experimenting with that. I can be a good listener for friends who need that or can have good conversations about almost everything. I like doing househould tasks, cleaning, washing, doing dishes, taking care of my houseplants, because it benefits my house and mental health (:. My native language is Dutch, but my English is also pretty good, but I never teached someone a language, so maybe it can be added to this list of skills, I am willing to try. I like to take friends to the park and be active together and think of some nice workouts to do. Another skill, always being curious to learn new skills from others.

Was noch ...

Some words that can maybe help to get a bit of a picture of me: I love to be outside to sit in the grass alone or with friends, reading a book, playing guitar,have good conservations or some good discussions (discussions to learn and see perspectives of others, since everyone has different opinions and I find that very interesting) or just doing absolutely nothing (laying, thinking, looking around and just enjoy being there).
