I’m Nicolas, 26, from Lucerne, Switzerland. I’m an active person who enjoys sports, meeting people, and diving into conversations about anything and everything. I thrive on exchanging knowledge and discovering new experiences right outside my doorstep.

Thanks to my parents, I caught the travel bug at an early age. From scouting camps to small adventures across Europe, my curiosity only grew—until it was time for something bigger. In August 2024, I set off on a world trip, starting from my hometown with my thumb out, hitchhiking through Europe until I reached Gibraltar in late September. Within 24 hours, I found a circus crew willing to take me aboard, and together we crossed the Atlantic. We arrived in Bequia on January 5th, and from there, I continued my journey to Martinique and the Dominican Republic. For the past month, I’ve been exploring the east side of the U.S., embracing every new experience that comes my way.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Back in Switzerland, I completed an apprenticeship as a Mechanical Engineering Technician and worked installing elevators for Schindler. Realizing the job didn’t align with my passions, I went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and Prevention—where I discovered a strong interest in working with people and supporting well-being. I was also actively involved in scouting for 16 years, several of which I spent as a group leader.

During my studies, I worked for one year in neighborhood community work (soziokulturelle Animation), where I helped organize activities and supported people from different backgrounds. After graduating, I interned at a watersports center and later worked as a teacher in youth psychiatry. Alongside that, I regularly helped a family friend with gardening and various outdoor tasks.

I’m passionate about learning and exchanging knowledge—whether through books, deep conversations, or shared experiences. I’m especially interested in urban development and hope to work in that field when I return to Switzerland. I also enjoy discussing topics like politics, philosophy, and social issues.

To balance mental activity with physical movement, I stay active with sports like windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing, bungeesurfing, road cycling, running, swimming, yoga, mobility training, and bodyweight workouts. I’d be happy to share a session or two!

More than anything, I enjoy spending time with others, hearing about their passions, and finding common ground—whether through language, ideas, or hands-on projects.
