Hello everyone! My name is Nathan. I am a 28-year-old immigration lawyer, born and raised in France, but I moved to Canada 10 years ago. I currently live in Calgary, but I spent most of my life in the chilly winters of Montreal (Quebec). Over the past few months, I have been on a journey of self-discovery after moving temporarily to Southeast Asia. So far, I have had the incredible opportunity to explore Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

These experiences have opened my eyes to new cultures and perspectives, and now I am excited to go beyond being a tourist and truly immerse myself in the local communities.I deeply desire to connect with people from all walks of life, learn from their stories, and share what I have learned in my own journey. I have always had a passion for travel and cultural exchange, and I believe that the most meaningful connections are made when we step out of our comfort zones and embrace new ways of thinking.

This year, I am looking to expand my horizons by contributing to the places I visit. I believe that by helping others and becoming an active part of a community, I can learn even more about myself and the world around me. I am passionate about learning new skills, and I am particularly interested in contributing to projects that involve language exchange, environmental sustainability, social causes, or any initiative that fosters community development.

I am deeply interested in both teaching and learning languages. I truly enjoy teaching French and English, as I find great satisfaction in helping others improve their language skills and gain confidence in communication. I offer one-on-one lessons to students from various countries, which has enriched my passion for teaching. I am also eager to expand my own language skills and would be excited to learn languages such as Japanese, Korean, Thai, or Chinese. I love the idea of immersing myself in new languages and cultures, and I look forward to the opportunity to exchange knowledge and learn from others.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have a diverse range of skills developed through my work in community outreach, education, and law. As a lawyer, I have gained strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, but my passion for helping others has led me to engage in various roles, including supporting international students, workers, and asylum seekers with immigration processes, as well as providing pro bono legal services to empower young people in schools.

In addition to my legal work, I have taught French to students from the United States, Vietnam, and Thailand, which deepened my appreciation for cultural exchange and enhanced my teaching abilities. I am also adaptable and eager to take on various tasks, from community projects and translation to administrative support.

On a personal note, I thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy contributing meaningfully. Whether it is assisting on a farm, supporting local initiatives, or offering my skills in any capacity, I am always ready to pitch in. I am also a dedicated pet owner, experienced in caring for cats, dogs, and other animals, and I approach animal care with the same attention and love I give to my own pets.

My background in working with the elderly has fostered a strong sense of empathy and compassion, and I am excited to apply these qualities, along with my professional skills, to any community or project I join.
