I live in the UK and plan on a sabbatical leave in Italia, to discover other people's lifestyles and to get my hand in works which require human senses and manual skills, close to nature and animals.

Salut à toutes et tous !

I am a French citizen living in the UK since 2010, engineer, fighter and tango dancer. During the pandemic, I fell in love with the Italian language, before developing an affection for the entire country and (most of) its inhabitants.

I currently work in a hospital where I support the safety and quality of services involving medical devices for patients and staff. Expert in conducting risk assessments, I feel it’s time to take more risk in my own life! After nearly 2 decades of dedication to my field, I’ve decided to listen to a new call for exploration: my personal adventure this year will be to immerse myself in Italy, this time not as a tourist.

Far beyond providing me with the benefit (most welcome for sure!) of a free accommodation, I see these Workaway opportunities as opening doors onto professions and passions which make use of a range of senses, manual, artistic and soft skills, and are closer to nature and animals.

These are precisely the parts of me I wish to nurture and further develop, learning either from experts or alongside experimenters. I am a reflective, organised and accountable individual, keen helper within my remit and humble learner to expand it!

Looking forward to meeting all the wonderful beings who will shape this year with me.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Being trained and having worked in engineering for many years (notably as a systems engineer, testing and supporting Raman spectrometers in the field), I favour logical thinking and have a high attention to detail.

I also have an awareness of safeguarding and natural ability for care, which I have demonstrated both in my current job in a hospital setting and in my private life with my 3-year-old niece.

I have the patience to do meticulous jobs, as well as the energy for more physical tasks. For example, I happily helped friends and family in their house moves, and helped a colleague to extract and transport chunky sandstones from their garden. Once I understand my task or role and have a clear enough vision of what to achieve, I take pride in progressing matters and enjoy interacting with stakeholders and other people to promote fruitful collaborations.

From my childhood through to adolescence, I used to draw and paint: something I would love to revive.
