Ever since I was a young boy I loved spending time outside as much as possible. Exploring my natural surroundings was one of my favourite spare time activities as well as helping out the local township gardening team with maintaining the plant borders in and around the urban area I lived in.
Although I received a christian upbringing, I was very much inspired by the way of life of the indigenous North American tribes. As a boy I dreamed of being adopted by a Lakota community, learning to live their way of life. This further evolved into a solid love for nature and and a deep interest in man's relationship to nature.
My first attempt to pour this into a profession was to become a landscaping gardener. Altogether I spent over ten years making a living like this, both in the Netherlands as well as in Portugal.
When this no longer satisfied my wishes I made a second attempt, this time as a bio-dynamic farmer. I followed a two year course in which I gave emphasis to bio-dynamic horticulture. I finished the course in 2014 and have been working in the field of organic horticulture since. Purely focusing on production though didn't satisfy my needs, so I started looking for places where I could work as a gardener together with people with special needs. At the moment I'm attending a vegetable garden with glass green house on an estate where adults live with different kinds of dissabilities.
I love the outdoors live and I am used to fysical labour. I am experienced in working with different types of people. I have decent knowledge and skills in gardening, horticulture, general farming, building and DIY.
The reason for me to want to work away is that I want to experience life in more remote natural areas. I want to learn more about self sustainability in this life style and I would like to learn more about handcrafting goods with natural materials.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have decent knowledge of and experience in gardening, tree maintenance, horticulture and organic farming in general. I know how to work with a scythe, how to maintain fruittrees and how to make good compost.
I love working with natural materials and am quite good at building and fixing fences, stables, shelters and other types of structures.
Although I am fysically able to move quite a lot of work, I also like to do things that don't require a lot of strength, like cooking and preserving food, picking and drying herbs etc.

Was noch ...

I love hiking in the mountains, reading while lying in a hammock or having a picknick in a flowery meadow with mountain views. Another thing I love are freshly running streams with natural pools to swim in. Also very much interested in spending a winter in the mountains with cold and snow.
