Hi ! We're Maëllie (26) and Léo (31), a French couple who have been traveling for 10 months in Asia before settling down in Australia with a Working Holiday Visa. We want to discover a new way of traveling and wish to slow down a bit, to avoid burning out. To find a routine, meet people, and participate in a common project... there's nothing better than Workaway!

We are currently travelling around Australia with Chop-Chop, our beloved little bus, which means we don't really need any accomodation but mostly a little piece of land and an easy access to water - but not mandatory as we can be off-grid for 3-4 days easily. We are self-contained but again, it's always better to have access to normal toilets !

We have no Workaway experience - for now - but we'd be thrilled to discover this mode of mutual aid. We can help with agricultural work, construction, maintenance, cultural exchange, and more. We love working with our hands. Otherwise, we enjoy learning, sharing, meeting, and discussing. We love cooking, and daily tasks are not a problem.

Before we left, Maëllie was an ecologist, meaning an ecological scientist-technician. Through small missions, she studied fauna and flora, organized biodiversity conservation projects, helped farmers promote small creatures on their farms, and led nature outings for children and adults.

Léo, on his side, had a small bicycle repair business in Montpellier, France. In parallel, he also had a workshop for converting vans into camper vans : wood construction, basic electricity and plumbing, mechanics... that's his passion!

Later, upon our return, we want to settle down and combine our two areas of expertise : renovating a farm with eco-materials that promotes biodiversity, where DIY and resourcefulness will be key. For this, we want to discover and be inspired by other projects like yours around the world.
