Hi there! We are Max and Ele, a couple from Italy. We are on Workaway to look for new experiences and new friends, to learn new languages and new skills and to try a different way to live our life, a way that allows us to be more light-hearted and to enjoy every breath, a new way for a new beginning. In fact, we are leaving everything behind to start again, saying goodbye to the hills covered by vineyards that have surrounded us in the last five years. We'll bring with us lots of experiences, our travels to Scotland, Wales, France, Spain, Portugal and Germany, and, of course, our lovely and friendly sausage dog Moka!

About me, Max, I come from Agricoltural studies and I have a bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences achieved at Milan-Bicocca University. I've done several jobs, in particular in the biodiversity conservation field and as environmental sampler technician for health and safety in industral activities, but I've also been a gardener and worked in a diary farm and in a vineyard. In the last years, I've done three different experiences as pilgrim through Europe, with tent and (big) backpack: the first one on the Via Francigena (from England to the end of Italy, through France and Switzerland), the second one on the Cammino di Assisi (on the Appenine mountains) and the third one on the Camino Portuguese de Santiago de Compostela (from Porto to Finisterre); lots of kilometres under my feet but lots of good memories, special stories and beautiful pictures to share! In all of this, knowing english and a bit of french has proven to be pretty useful, but I'd like to improve my poor spanish as well... Anyway, in addition to my pilgrim life, I also love writing, drawing, painting, clay modelling and, of course, taking pictures of beautiful landscapes! Oh, and I'm a fan of fantasy books and movies, such as Harry Potter, Eragon and the Lord of the Rings :P Well, for now this should be enough, I'll leave the rest for when we will meet 😁 I give the word to Ele!

About me , Eleonora✨, I come from various jobs like Sales assistant and Warehouse worker. I really like manual work so I'm really looking forward to learn new skills!
I love cooking 🍝 it is my love language, mostly simple italian dishes and i really enjoy baking sweets 🍪 but I love eating even more, especially sharing food with friends!
I adore dogs 🐕 this is why I like so much taking care of our dog Moka, we always go for a walk and play together, even if she keeps being mainly in love with Max🤦🏻‍♀️
Another thing that I really enjoy is travelling. About this, one of the most important experiences that I've made has been in Ireland, where during high school I've been hosted by a family in exchange for taking care of their garden and their house. It was really beautiful, especially because my host mom was lovely and allowed me to explore the surroundings, giving me the chance to know a lot of people!
Now I'm looking forward for a new adventure with my boyfriend and my dog 🌟

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Join us on our adventures ...)

We've been at Winny's for one month and a half between January and February and it's been really a wonderful experience! Actually, it was the first big workaway experience for the both of us, so we basically "grew" together in this, learning gradually to know each other and how to manage the daily routine, the work and the free time. Winny was… read more really kind with us since the very beginning, warm, welcoming and super nice and funny! We shared nice hikes, meals, movie nights and beautiful moments together, as well as jokes and stories about our adventures and our lives. We were also invited twice to have lunch with her friends, which was really nice, a true pleasure for us meeting each of them, chatting, listening to their stories and playing games.

About the job, Winny always made sure that it wasn't too tough or overwhelming. In the first part of our staying, we were asked mainly to take care about the dogs while Winny was away, to cut the wood for the fire and to keep the house clean. In the second part of our experience, when the weather got better, we began to work in the garden and in the surrounding land, which is really huge, so with much to do: trimming, pruning, planting, decorating, etc. But it was such a satisfaction to see the improvements!
About the daily routine, we were working usually 4-5 hours per day, but in a flexible way, and in the weekend we had the chance to explore the area, which is amazingly beautiful, close to mountains, beaches and historical cities such as Tarragona! Beautiful is also Winny's house, a huge finca off-grid surrounded by olive trees and pines, with a comfortable apartment upstairs where we stayed.

Taking care of the dogs was not a problem at all, because they are all really friendly and sweet, and they accepted easily our dog Moka as part of the family. Kimy, Mali, Neliah, Django, Joy... We will miss each of them truly a lot! Now it's so weird not having all of them around, not seeing Moka playing wildly with Kimy while Mali barks with jelousy at them and Neliah trays to jump into the fray, not having Django begging you to throw some stone, not welcoming Joy after her daily hunting...
We are truly grateful to Winny for her hospitality, kindness and trust, and we hope to meet her and her sweet dogs again in the future, possibly very soon! In the meanwhile, we will truly keep all of them in our memories and in our hearts. Whenever you need help, Winny, just tell us and we will be more than happy to come!

vom Host (Join us on our adventures ...) für Workawayer ()

Max, Ele & Moka are truly amazing personalities!! I had the joy of hosting them for six and a half weeks, and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for better company.

My tiniest dog was about to undergo major brain surgery, which meant I had to rush to Madrid for a week. Without hesitation, Max and Ele packed up and drove 13 hours all the way from… read more Italy to Spain, so I could focus on my little pup.

It was a completely chaotic situation 😅 we hadn’t even known each other and I just handed them my house keys, gave them money to fill my diesel heater, and left the next morning. But from the very start, they gave me such a warm, trusting feeling that I could leave completely at ease. They kept in touch the whole time, sending me updates, photos, and videos of my dogs.

When I came back, we had the most wonderful time together. Max and Ele are incredibly hardworking. Max immediately took charge of the firewood, cutting it with the chainsaw and making fires for us in the evenings. I never even asked, he just naturally took care of it ☺️ Ele is a phenomenal cook! I ate so well while they stayed. She also kept the house in order, tidied the kitchen, washed dishes, and even baked.

We agreed not to have strict rules or schedules, so, they could sleep in and work whenever they wanted.
Just a sense of give-and-take, and Max and Ele far exceeded my expectations. In just six and a half weeks, they transformed my home. My property is huge, but they managed to mow the lawn, plant new flowers, repair the fence (twice, because my dog kept breaking it 😂), paint, maintain the pool, and still take care of my dogs. For all their effort, they get a solid 10/10 from me!! 💯

Beyond all that, Max and Ele are incredibly kind and funny and huge animal lovers. It’s so easy and fun to spend time with them. We went hiking, visited the lake with the dogs, watched movies in the evenings and even hosted a raclette night with my friends. I truly enjoyed every moment and will miss them so much. I only let them leave with a heavy hear. They had to promise to come back, whether for another stay or just a holiday!

And Moka… oh, Moka is just as wonderful as they are! Full of energy and love, she plays with everyone and keeps the whole gang on their toes. My dogs ran, played, chased each other all over the property and fetched balls.
Inside the house we sometimes had to slow them down because they were using the furniture and sofa as a parkour playground 😂

I can wholeheartedly recommend Max, Ele & Moka to any host looking for trustworthy, hardworking, and absolutely lovable Workawayers. They’ll bring joy, laughter, and so much heart to your home 🩵
