Beschreibung

We are a couple from Italy who has lived in Australia for the past 9 years. After University and working corporate for few years, we are ready to embrace in some time off from the hustle and bustle of the city. Marta will start workaway on her own from January to April, while Nawfal stays in Australia. Then, Nawfal will join her for a trip spanning Asia, Europe and South America! The information on this profile are now tailored on Marta's experience only, but we will update it once we are ready to travel together from mid 2025 onwards :)

I was born and raised in Italy in a rural area and hobby farm in the North West, but moved to Australia to study my degree in Zoology and have been here since.
By profession I work in agricultural entomology and I am really passionate about sustainability and ecoprojects. I love animals, and have volunteered in a RSPCA shelter in Melbourne. I am very interested in learning about sustainable synthropic farming and ecoliving, and very keen to connect with like-minded individuals and communities who share a passion for creating a more sustainable ways of living. I am also very keen to practice and learn Spanish by giving language exchanges in italian or english, as mentioned we plan a long trip in South and Central America, so I am really motivated to reach my goal! :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Professionally I work as Entomologist (agricultural insects science), and have good knowledge of agricultural pests. I have also hands on experience as a farmer in tropical Australia on mangoes, lychees and citrus farms. My parents owns a little hobby farm in Italy, where I grew up helping them grow a large veggie garden while also taking care of several farm animals.
While a student at university where i graduate in Zoology, I've worked extensively as a commercial cleaner at the Melbourne zoo, and I also gaining experience in housekeeping.
I enjoy crafting and often have regular crafting sessions with my girlfriends and have picked up sewing - though I am still a beginner :)

I am vegetarian, and enjoy cooking for myself and my friends often. I believe there is no better way to spend time than having a meal with friends!
