hey!
*2025 BACK IN ICELAND UNTIL NOVEMBER*
i'm markus, a screenprinter with an engineers bachelors degree in media technologies...
I'm originally from Germany, living in Iceland since 2021.
i am here for connecting with people all over the globe, interested in improving myself by learning and trying new things and of course giving a hand wherever i can.
i'm open to whatever kind of work you'll have to offer!
i've spent some years in iceland, worked on several farms doing all kinds of work. (harvesting/maintenance work/animal care, operating the tractors...)
i worked in a fish factory in the production and as a forklift driver and i worked as a guide on a boat at a glacier lagoon.
i also stood in canada, where i worked at a rafting/glamping/yoga resort and was also doing a bit of everything.
i was guiding hikes, doing archery with guests, kitchen help, cleaning, and maintenance work.
for a few days i was dog- and housesitting as well!
i also worked as a housekeeper, on the front desk and helped building a log and straw house.
last year i've been in finland, working as a guide for icefishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ...
in the beginning of 2024 i helped renovating an old traditional japanese house in Hakuba/Nagano (Japan).
at the moment i am back in iceland working as a guide.
i like being active and being outdoors, hiking, climbing, swimming, making music, singing, drawing and i love to take pictures!
my goals are helping wherever help is needed whilst learnig about different cultures and exploring this planet and evolving!

i like playing instruments and singing. i do a variety of outdoor activities like climbing, hiking, shooting bow and arrow, swimming, ...and a few more. Also i like photography and just being creative in any way!

Was with us for over a month, joining to move our project ahead while the Winter urged us to finish certain steps. His commitment to the tasks given and his ability to adapt to all kinds of work were outstanding. Needless to say that he was of amazing help at this important step. so far it was the first workaway experience that really felt like a real unique experience and adventure on all layers.
the accomondation was a cabin just for myself. i had to light the oven to keep the place warm, be very careful with the use of water not to waste...

i got the job by last minute and everything was just unproblematicas could be. from picking me up at the bus station to the accomondationand work ...just perfect. you share a house with other workawayers. and the… read more
Jailin is a very inspiring, grounded and kind person and she really does everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. we've been hiking together and she was telling me about the surrounding, what else can be done there. (biking, hiking, discgolf, shopping… read more
