Hi!
I'm Marie, a very calm and open-minded outdoor lover!
Originally I'm from Cologne/Germany, but now live in Innsbruck/Austria.
I really love the idea of travelling slowly which made me using volunteering as a nice option to share experiences and to get around in an authentic way.
After school I took 3 years off to work in a ski resort in winter and to travel around in the summer months. Starting with volunteering and hiking in Nepal I found out how beautiful the simple life is and decided to continue this way - hiking, hitchhiking, cycling and volunteering around, getting in contact with local people as much as possible.
Currently I study geography and work in a travel/outdoor book company.
As I will write my bachelor thesis about community-based ecotourism in the amazon forest, I got the opportunity to visit South America again and learn more about culture and nature!

I worked in a ski resort in Austria for 3 winters, so have some experience in working with tourists. Also I volunteered in guesthouses in Patagonia and Guatemala and on a camping in Romania.
I also made some very basic experience with gardening and farming and I'm definitely interested to work on these skills! I love the self-sustainable way of living and would love to share experience and learn more about it!
As I work in a map and travel book company, I could maybe help in the publicity of your place.
