Discovering the south island in Feb and north island in March. Would be nice to meet new people on the way - let's go into the nature, enjoy good food, do sports, rent a van & adventure etc :)

Beschreibung

I'm an adventurous soul, calm in essence but have an active lifestyle. Animals, music, dancing, sports and nature bring me the most joy, as well as traveling, meeting new people and having interesting conversations. As a curious person, I'm always eager to learn new things, whether it's about cultures, people, nature or developing my skills.

I've dreamed of traveling to New Zealand for a long time, and now the time is right! My fixed-term job is ended in December 2025, and now it's time to get off the rat race and make my dream come true. I’d like to learn about the local culture, immerse myself in the lifestyle, meet new people and, of course, discover the beautiful nature. Also wouldn't mind finding a deeper purpose and new inspirations in life in general :)

I've worked in different tourism development projects in northern Finland, and I also have experience in hospitality jobs and customer service. I'm also a part-time dance teacher, and I feel very thankful to be able to share my passion and the joy of dancing to others! Every now and then I take care of my friends' dogs (hopefully I have my own dog some day!) and do some gardening and maintenance jobs (which I really enjoy) at my family's summer place.

At Workaway, I'm hoping to learn for example about farming, gardening and more sustainable lifestyle, as well as different maintenance and DIY jobs, because I want to include these more in my everyday life :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Farm work, gardening, yard tasks, DIY projects, household help etc. are the things I would especially love to help you with. I've done these kind of things in our family's summer place (an old farm) in the past few summers and also at my friends' places. I'm a quick learner, so I'm sure I could give a hand in many tasks.

I work in a tourism development project, and I'm also a part-time dance teacher. In my current jobs I’ve gained know-how for example in project management, marketing and communications, product development and instructing and interacting with different people. Previously I've been working in tourism companies as a receptionist, guide, waitress and cleaner.
I'm an effective and hands-on person, with systematic way of working and good communication skills, and I'm not afraid of physical work.

Need a friend in a sports hobby? Look no further! I love sports, both in easy-going and competitive sense. Ball games, winter sports, summer sports, water sports, crossfit, anything! I rarely say "no". I might not be good at everything but it can still be fun :D

Workwise my ultimate dream is to own a small manor hotel in the countryside, with animals, saunas, local food and nature around, offering authentic and relaxing experiences. That's one reason I now would like to live and experience the farm life, to learn about all the tasks there are.

I've done voluntary work also before, in 2013 in Sri Lanka. I was teaching English there, and I think it was so beautiful experience and the best way to learn the local lifestyle!
