We are really excited about joining Workaway because we love the idea of cultural exchange and learning new skills. Traveling is more than just visiting places for me – it’s about connecting with people, understanding their way of life, and sharing our own experiences.

Our motivation to get involved, whether it’s helping with daily tasks, outdoor projects, or creative activities. We enjoy being part of a team, but we were also independent and happy to take initiative when needed. What inspires us most is the chance to learn something new – from practical skills to different perspectives on life.

For us, Workaway is the perfect way to combine our love for travel and creating connections with people around the world.

Sabrina speaks English pretty fluently (she lives 2 years in Australia), and Maren is more on the intermediate side. One of Maren’s goals this year is to level up and become fluent too. We love practicing through everyday conversations, so Workaway is a great chance for us to improve while connecting with people.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We are two german best friends and know each other since kindergarten. We bring a wide range of skills from both our professional background and international experiences. In Germany, we worked as a secretary from a lawyer and mediator and an educator for children with disabilities, which gave us strong organizational, communication, and people skills.

We are in Canada for an sabbatical/working holiday year. We spent 3 month in Anahim Lake at an off-grid resort where half of our role involved all-rounder tasks such as collecting and cutting logs, preparing firewood, housekeeping, carpenter, and general support. The other part of our work was caring for 12 horses – including feeding, grooming, training, and ensuring their well-being.

This mix of administrative, practical, and animal care experience makes us flexible, reliable, and motivated to take on a variety of tasks while learning something new along the way.

Was noch ...

We both enjoy exploring the area, playing games, and reading books. We love spending time outdoors in nature, but also enjoy relaxing moments in a cozy café.
