Hi! 😊

We are Mar and Rubén, a couple from southeastern Spain, specifically from the region of Murcia. I am 20 years old and currently studying International Relations at the University of Murcia, Two years ago, I spent a year in Switzerland, where I learned German and English.
Rubén is 19 years old and studies International Trade at the Catholic University of San Antonio. He has participated in two exchange programs: one year in Minnesota, USA, and another in Taipei, Taiwan.
We joined Workaway because we want to experience new things outside our usual environment, and we believe this is one of the best ways to do it—traveling while also helping people with their projects.

Our city is in the southeast of Spain, a city where the weather is quite warm but also very beautiful and welcoming. we love meeting people from different backgrounds and learning about their cultures.we are passionate about discovering new places and improving our language skills. we think an exchange is much more enriching when you fully immerse yourself, sharing and learning with others.

For us, it’s important to have the willingness to help, meet new people, and always give our best. we are happy to contribute in any way needed,we are open to helping with different tasks.

In my free time, I enjoy baking, reading, watching series or movies, and spending time with friends. At first, I tend to be a bit reserved when meeting new people, but I always enjoy getting to know others and learning from them, especially if they are from different countries and I can discover more about their culture.

Rubén is a very active person with a strong passion for sports. He plays rugby in a team where he trains twice a week and competes in matches on weekends. Additionally, he stays in shape by going to the gym on the other days of the week. Another one of his biggest passions is cars; he loves learning about them and talking about the topic whenever he gets the chance. He also has a great passion for motorcycles. He is more social from the start and is always excited to meet new people.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Two years ago, I spent a year in Switzerland, where I learned German and English. During that time, I worked in a store in Gstaad during the Christmas season, which gave me valuable experience working with customers.

Ruben has participated in two exchange programs: one year in Minnesota, USA, and another in Taipei, Taiwan. He speaks fluent English and has basic knowledge of French and Mandarin Chinese. His work experience includes hospitality, having worked as a waiter and delivery driver.

I love cooking, especially baking, and I have a great passion for animals. Rubén, on the other hand, has experience in gardening and DIY projects, and he also has some knowledge of technology. He enjoys working with animals as well.

We are responsible, open-minded, and always eager to learn from new experiences. We love meeting new people, discovering different cultures, and sharing our skills. We believe we can contribute with our positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to help in any way we can.

We are really looking forward to this experience and hope to be a great fit for our future hosts!
