Hi :)

Paula (Austrian, 23) and I (German, 22) just finished our Bachelor degree in 'Sustainable energy transition' in Sweden, where we also lived together for three years. Before starting our Master studies we decided to explore beautiful Panama and maybe further north for 3.5 months beginning September 2023. I have done workaway before in the UK and Asia and really loved the concept. These are some of the greatest experiences in my life and I told Paula much about it, which is why we are curious to do it in Central America as well.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Skill-wise we bring everything that we learned during our studies, which includes aspects of sustainability, environmental protection and how humans affect and can facilitate both. As that was all quite theoretical we would love to broaden our perspective and learn more about it from other countries.

Over the years we have worked in different jobs and fields, mostly in the service industry (café, restaurant, boats rent, plant store) and are quite experienced with customer interactions and team work. We also have experience in child care, Paula did babysitting for a 5 year old and I gave private lessons in math. In Sweden, both of us volunteered in the community kitchen, where the food waste from the local super markets was used to cook dishes. Paula also volunteered at the red cross for multiple years.

In our free time we enjoy to cook together, go on fun adventures in nature and meet new people from around the world. Paula loves doing different kinds of sports, especially horse-riding and hiking, and reading. I enjoy all kinds of arts and crafts (wood carving, pottery, jewellery, acrylic painting), kayaking, and although not super good to play some instruments.

The work on my previous workaway trips included mostly gardening and animal care on different farms, but also working as an English teacher in a school and child care.

We both love to work on the outside and will do our best to help you wherever you need a hand!

Was noch ...

(Please notice: I love cats, but I'm badly allergic to them. I can't sleep in a room, where a cat comes in sometimes. If the cat is just outside or in other parts of the flat/house whatever, I'm all fine :) )
