Hey everyone, my name is Luka, I'm 23 years old and from Belgium.
I was travelling for 3,5 years and just got back to Europe in July. Since October I've been living at home again in Mortsel, close to Antwerp, but now I wanna start doing Workaway again.

I just learnt about regenerative agriculture some weeks ago through a book and now I'm reading everything I can find about it. I find it so interesting and I think that restoring the soil is a very important piece of the puzzle towards lowering the impacts of climate change as much as possible.
With that being said, I want to learn all about it by actually doing the work and learning from all you interesting people. I'm interested in the whole scala of regenerative agriculture, permaculture, food forests and I wanna know the plants around me, what I can use them for and so on.
Right now I'm mostly interested in staying in Belgium (who would have thought I'd ever say this? :p), cause after all this is my home country and I wanna learn about the plants that grow here. Something that kinda adds to this all is living with and in nature, possibly off grid, within a community, that's what I really crave.

My last 2 years in high school I did horticulture, I went there cause I wanted to learn about growing vegetables and all of that, but I ended up learning more about garden maintenance which wasn't really my interest.
Anyway, during my first year of travelling in Canada, I did Workaway that whole year, mostly staying 3 months at one place. I had some where I worked in the garden planting seeds, weeding, watering, harvesting, making plant beds, ... At the time I was getting more and more interested in movement, so that kinda became my main focus. Especially after hiking around 1300 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail in the US and ending up in Mexico afterwards where I found movement teachers, so I basically spend most of my time there learning and practicing movement as much as I could. I was in Mexico for almost 2 years.
I'm still interested in movement, mostly things that involve or can involve partners like play, playfighting, improvisation, expression, ... But I'm looking for a more holistic life, where all my interests can exist and be practiced next to each other. That being said I also draw, write (am writing a book), make other forms of art, was learning some piano and wanna learn how to play the drums. Oh and one more thing I also like to learn is how to make clothes or repair them, knitting, ... Basically all the aspects of a well rounded, natural, self sufficient life.

In terms of other "skills" I have; I'm a pretty good painter (walls, windows, doors, ...), learnt how to use some carpenter tools while helping to build a small house, helped make some furniture, ... And of course I can do general things like cleaning and I really like cooking and baking.

And one more very specific thing, I'm going to parkour classes in Ghent on Monday and Wednesday evenings until the end of May. So I'm specifically looking for a place where it's relatively easy to reach Ghent, I don't mind sitting on the train for an hour and I have my own bike that I will bring.

I know a decent amount about gardening and farm life, I'm a pretty good painter (have painted 2 houses, many more random walls, fences, windows, doors, ...), learnt how to use some carpenter tools while helping to build a small house, helped make some furniture, ... And of course I can do general things like cleaning, shopping and other chores around the house and I really like cooking and baking.

I'd like to find a Workaway where I can learn all about regenerative agriculture, permaculture, food forests, edible and medicinal plants, ... Live in and with nature, surrounded by like minded and open people. Where we can talk, laugh, play, make art and music together, cook, ...
