Hey!

Update - Just Lucy travelling for now 🙂

We’re Lucy and James, both recently turned 30 and living in the north of England. We both worked in Medical Communications for 5 years - James as a project manager and Lucy as a Scientific Director. However, at the start of 2024 we decided to take a (rather extended) career break. We spent 11 months travelling slowly through Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, and Peru, and having incredible Workaway experiences along the way. We then moved to Canada for a year and lived in the beautiful city of Nelson, British Columbia, where we worked at the ski resort in the winter and in the town for the summer.

We have recently moved back to the UK and James has started a job. Luckily for me (Lucy) my job doesn’t start until January - so I’m looking to fit in one last Workaway adventure!

A bit about us: we both love being outdoors and anything to do with animals. James is a very keen rock climber, whilst Lucy has been horseriding and looking after horses pretty much since she could walk, but after retiring her horse three years ago, has now taken up mountain biking instead. We also love skiing, hiking, paddleboarding, yoga, and (falling off of) a surfboard!

We’re very easy going but also like to keep busy, so have loved our Workaway experiences; getting the opportunity to help out, meet new people, and see a different side to the countries we visit. James is very organised, loves reading and writing, and working with people; he has been a climber for all his life and worked as a climbing instructor so would love to share his passion with others. Lucy worked for many years with horses, including at a horse-riding school, so is great with animals and kids. She also loves cooking, and worked in a hotel in St Anton, Austria, and as Front of House Assistant Supervisor at Whitewater Ski Resort, so has plenty of hospitality experience.
