Beschreibung

We are Gabriel and Luciana, an Argentine couple who decided to leave our comfort zone and start a new adventure together in 2024. Since then, we have lived, worked, studied and travelled through different countries, always looking for new experiences that help us learn, grow and discover different ways of life.

We are curious, open-minded and easy-going people who enjoy meeting new people, sharing stories and learning from different cultures. For us, travelling is not only about visiting new places, but also about connecting with people, sharing everyday moments and becoming part of local communities.

We love nature and prefer places where we can be outdoors and surrounded by it. We are also interested in sustainable lifestyles and would love to learn more about gardening, agriculture, self-sufficiency and sustainable tourism.

We enjoy cooking and sharing meals, having good conversations, playing board games and simply spending time together with other people. We also value everyone's personal space and understand the importance of a respectful and comfortable environment.

We like learning by doing and are always willing to try new things, work with our hands and help wherever needed. We don't mind getting our hands dirty and are happy to learn tasks we have never done before.

We have already had some great work and volunteering experiences abroad, and we discovered that this is a wonderful way for us to travel and connect with people.

We are responsible, positive and adaptable, and we are always willing to contribute, learn and make the most of every experience.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

As a couple, we have a diverse range of skills and experiences, which allows us to adapt to different types of projects and tasks.

Practical work and maintenance: We have experience with cleaning, maintenance, organizing and preparing spaces, as well as different types of physical work, both indoors and outdoors. We enjoy learning new skills and are not afraid of working with our hands.

Cooking and hospitality: We both have experience working in hotels and restaurants, including kitchen work, food preparation, serving guests and customers, cleaning and organization. We are also used to working as part of a team, especially during busy periods.

Nature and outdoor work: Luciana is a biologist specializing in zoology, with experience in biodiversity conservation, environmental restoration and wildlife monitoring. She has participated in projects involving sea turtles, snakes, frogs and birds, as well as environmental restoration and maintenance of parks and trails. We both enjoy nature and spending time working outdoors.

Gardening and agriculture: We have gained practical experience with gardening and agricultural tasks through our volunteering experiences, and we are especially interested in continuing to learn about gardening, growing food, plant care and more sustainable ways of living.

Organization and problem-solving: Gabriel is a civil engineer with several years of professional experience working on construction and infrastructure projects in Argentina. This experience helped him develop strong skills in organization, planning, problem-solving and coordinating different tasks and teams.

Teamwork and independence: We are comfortable working together as part of a team, but we can also work independently and take responsibility for the tasks we are given.

We are responsible, organized, adaptable and always willing to learn. We are happy to take on new tasks even when we have no previous experience, and we always try to bring a positive attitude and help wherever we are needed.

Was noch ...

Our first volunteering experiences in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina were very special to us and showed us a different way of travelling. Beyond the tasks we worked on, what we enjoyed most was sharing everyday life with our hosts, hearing their stories and becoming part of their way of life, even if only for a short time.

In Croatia, we spent 15 days in a rural environment, where we had the opportunity to disconnect from our routine, work together and share meaningful moments with our hosts and other travellers. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, we had a different but equally rewarding experience, which allowed us to keep learning and adapting to a new way of life.

These experiences made us really appreciate the kind of connection that happens when you stop being just a tourist and become part of the everyday life of a place. Some of the best experiences of our travels have come from situations we never planned.

After several years of living and travelling abroad, we have also learned to manage things on our own, adapt to different environments and deal with the unexpected situations that come along the way. Travelling for long periods has made us more independent, patient and open to new perspectives.

We would love to continue having this kind of experience in New Zealand: getting to know our hosts, sharing their everyday life, learning from them and contributing the best of ourselves during the time we spend together.
