Hello to everyone! My name is Sara, I'm 28 years old and I'm from North Italy. I live ten minutes away from Lake Garda if you know where it is.
I'm a computer science student in Verona who loves to travel and managed to do that often when I was younger, but in the last few years between Covid and University that was quite difficult. I've lately missed it a lot and decided to try out this new things. I don't want to just stay in a place for a couple of days and experience just a slice of the place, people and way of living. I have access to classes online so this feels like the perfect moment to do it.

I’ve been lucky enough to experience Workaway in first person having a great time and learning a lot.

I have lived in several cities in Italy, including Padova, Ferrara, and Brescia and I'm used to share a communal space and I miss being able to have a quite night hanging out and sharing food and recipes every weekend. Also I have two younger siblings with whom I've always shared responsibilities and duties in the house.

While studying, I have worked in cafeterias, restaurants and a couple of pubs/bar. Sometimes with older customers (mostly almost in the mountains in a little village) and with younger people and I'm quite flexible in several and various environment.

I am currently tutoring elementary to high school kids teaching English, French, Math and Geometry, mostly.
I'm patient with kids and probably I love watching cartoons more than them sometimes. I have experience as a babysitter moslty with kids from 7 to 12, but I've worked with a couple of toddlers too back in Italy mostly to give parents a little bit of peace during the evening so they could go out.
I have a car licence so it's not a problem if I have to get them around or take them to school when it's necessary.
I love crafting even tough I'm not great at it but I try to have fun with it and do something outside of watching tv or playing videogames.

I love spending time outside. Feeling again
the sun on my skin lately has being quite energizing and I thnk that I wasn't realizing how much I've missed it.

As a student, I require internet access, as most of my classes are online and I need to keep studying.

I am a big fan of Italian cuisine and mostly cook savory dishes, but I also know some classic and delicious dessert recipes. I would love to have the opportunity to cook and learn more about different cuisines during my travels. I'm omnivorous but I'm trying to eat less and less meat and I'm curious about learning more about vegetarian recipes and way of life.

I enjoy connecting with people and would like to stay with Workaway hosts who are open to interaction and sharing their experiences with me. I love music and attending concerts, unfortunately I cannot play any instruments, and I enjoy hiking and exploring nature.

I am also eager to learn new skills and improve the ones I already have. I am fluent in both English and Italian and have a good knowledge of French. I can hold a conversation in French but would love to have the opportunity to use it more often and improve my skills. Additionally, I am studying German again for some of my tutoring students, and while my knowledge is basic, I am eager to learn more.

I would love to teach Italian, English and intermediate French. I also would like to have a chance to speak a little bit of German and hear it daily, to start learning some basic Dutch and Spanish. But honestly whatever language you speak, I'm open to learn a bit about it and have some exchange. It's always fun to learn about various manner of speaking in other cultures.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I'm hardworking and open to explore everything and learn everything that needs to be learned.
But, listing the ones I already have at least a decent knowledge and pratical experience:
- Worked in restaurants, starting from a delivery guy position and finishing as a waitress during the summer after highschool till pretty much two years ago
- helped out at the front desk of a little trattoria with a b&b but that wasn't my main job
- babysitting kids
- tutoring for kids in Elementary, Middle and High School (Math, French, basic German, English, Italian, Geometry)
- English lessons to College students to pass their B2 exam
- currently helping out my dad who's demolishing and renovating a couple of rooms in my late gradma part of our home
- I'm currently doing a workaway where I'm learning how to take care of horses and the garden outside

- we have two cats and a dog so I'm used to take care of them and love to be around them

I'm more than willing to put it the work and learn new skills, I will sometimes need a little bit of explanation and I will ask for it if it's something I've never done or I'm not completely sure about it

Was noch ...

I love to play draughts, scala quaranta and briscola. The last two are cards game here in Italy that are quite common both in pubs, both in families. I would love to learn to play chess sooner or later.
I enjoy playing UNO, cards against the Humanity and pictionary.

I enjoy going out for a chill night or spending time at home just chatting and having a beer and I love to hear about new tv shows and books, no matter what they are about. Talk about it with a little bit of fun and passion and I'm in.
