Heyy :)
We are Lena and Josi, two friends from Germany who are looking for a nice Workaway in Greece for three weeks in September! We know each other since school and love travelling together. We have travelled in Germany, to Amsterdam, Switzerland and Sweden. Also we both have participated in Workaway projects and have gained some lovely experiences through that! Lena worked at a permacultural project in the rural countryside in Germany for a month and Josi did two Workaways in Colombia, where she travelled for five months. One also was a permaculture project, the other one was an eco-hostel in the Andes.

Josi:
Hey! :) I am 23 years old. I am a calm and very people-and-animal-loving person and find joy in most things in life :) Always working on enjoying life, beeing greatful and bringing a positive energy into the world.

I like doing all sorts of creative stuff (crafting, baking, cooking, drawing, I would love to get more into pottery and to work on my crocheing-skills a bit more) but in my day to day life I don't always find enough time for it. So I have even more motivation haha. I also like doing sport (Yoga, Pilates, Workouts, Volleybal, generally love taking walks) and love listening to music, podcasts or books and gushing about the cuteness of animals (and sometimes also humans). Politics, equality in all sorts of ways and a sustainable lifestyle are things that I am very intersted in and passionate about. I am vegan and also work volunteerly since many years in organisations concerning the freedom and protection of women and refugees. So yeah like said before I have no problem finding joy in all sorts of work, my brain loves doing creative things but I also like to get lost in more monotonous work. Working in a team brings me great joy but I also like some me-time and have no problem working independently. Ah yeah, I have recently found out, that I am also very food motivated haha.

Lena:

Hey 😊 I am 24 years old and currently studying in Osnabrück as a student of migration studies. For a longer time now, I am searching for a way to travel more consiously and think that Workaway is such a nice way to be part of a little community.
I would say that I am a calm and sometimes quiet person, sometimes I like to listen more than I like to talk, but also open up as soon as I get to know someone more deeply and laugh a lot. Supporting the people around me and also trying to be supported by others as well is really important to me.
I am very interested in different kinds of consious living like Yoga or meditation or thinking about how one can impact ones surrounding in a positive way. This is why I am volunteering at the Refugee Law Clinic in Osnabrück, which is an NGO giving legal advice to people seeking asylum in Germany and am part of a project that organizes free time activities for children in reception centers for refugees.
Also I love to take photos and once thought about becoming a documentary photographer.
I am always happy to spend evenings playing board games, doing something creative with friends or sitting around a camp fire, go on a hike or try something like ice skating or climbing. Currently I am also reading a lot again.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Lena:
In general I really like to learn new things and am open to get to know new skills :)
In 2020 I had a three month long internship in environmental protection, therefore I do know a bit about work outside and enjoyed it a lot as well. For example I learned how to use basic tools and cutters, we built seasonal fences for amphibians and cut pollard willows.
During my first worlaway I helped everywhere it was needed: with childcare, cleaning the horse stables, harvesting pumkins, zucchinis or potatoes and painting walls.
In general I would like to learn more about active work outside and am open to everything you can teach me.
Also, I am an amateur photographer and could help you out with photos if you have an online presence or just would like to have your way of life documented. When I was volunteering for Amnesty, I helped out in the area of public relations if that is needed.
We have had dogs for over 10 years now, so I know how to take care of them. Also I have some experience with horses and in general like to take care of animals.
For a couple of years I tutored children at the age of 9 to 12 in different subjects like German, Spanish and English and have volunteered at an elementary school once a week to teach reading to an 8 year old girl.

Josi:
I think the biggest ability I bring to the table is motivation haha and there indeed are a lot of things I have fun doing :) I have a medical background and really learned to love talking to and taking care of people in that field and generally. I am a creative person and love everything going in that direction, having done a bit of everything. I also like cooking and baking and try to challenge myself by trying to do so healthy and sustainable. And yeah, due to the volunteer work in the medical field but also in NGOs I got very used to just teach myself everything that was useful. I also gained some experiences in farmwork at a workaway in the Andes and have some experience in taking care of children. My parents have a cat and I get along great with animals. :)

  Lena has a very serious egg allergy, so in general it would be very helpful to not have so many eggs in the kitchen (or somenone with a vegetarian/vegan diet). Also Lena can't eat apples.
