  • Beschreibung

    Having lived in an intentional community (Bowden House) in South Devon, UK, for over a decade, we now want to explore communities and eco-projects in neighbouring countries, to share experiences and skills.

    Over the past few years most of our travelling has been to Scotland (the Highlands and also volunteering at a retreat centre and family) and Wales (visiting an eco-community and a retreat centre), as well as local festivals and volunteering as set-up crew for a Buddhist festival (Buddhafield). Previous to this, Hamid and sometimes Leilani have travelled in mainland Europe - for conscious dance workshops and visiting community and family.

    Totnes, where we currently live, is the home of the Transition Towns movement and has a strong focus on healing and inner growth, and projects and action around the climate and ecological crisis.

    Leilani: I am involved in coordinating the local Climate Hub, and facilitate Transition Streets and Climate Fresk workshops. I am fascinated with group process and dynamic governance structures (such as sociocracy, holacracy) and see transformation in how we organise as groups and make decisions together as a core part of the change that is needed in the world. I am also a regular participant in our community gardening days;

    Hamid: I am a 5 Rhythms Dance facilitator and an architectural design consultant with professional knowledge and experience of listed building renovation work. I also volunteer as a director of a Sufi retreat centre in Scotland.

    We both have hands-on practical building skills (Hamid lots; Leilani some) and are keen on eco-building projects. We are active in the community we live in, renovating and maintaining heritage property and creating and maintaining community buildings. During the past two years we also spent time building a cabin in Scotland, to help out a niece.
