Hi I am Lauren!

I am a positive minded, energetic 28-year-old who enjoys keeping busy and taking on new challenges and experiences.
I love the sun, the ocean, nature, animals and FOOD. Especially Italian food. That's why I would love to do a workaway on an Italian farm and really get in touch with the products that make this cuisine so great.

But first, let me introduce myself:

I studied Languages and Literature (English - Italian) in University. My love for Italy definitely grew during that time. After my studies I worked as an editor for a publishing house in Bruges for three years. Besides my 9 to 5 job, I kept busy with some volunteer work, a weekendjob as a barista at a coffee place in Ghent, playing Lacrosse with the Ghent Gazelles and cooking. After those three years I wanted a change of scenery and moved to Lisbon for 5 months. There I worked in one of the best brunch bars of Lisbon, Augusto. This experience was followed by a roundtrip through Mexico for two months with a friend. One of the best experiences so far!
Right now I live in vibrant Brussels, where I work for a non-profit as a pedagogical coördinator.

Over the years, my passion for cooking and sustainability just kept growing and growing. I even brought this passion to a professional level through a few catering projects.
I cook and experiment every day. For me using local and seasonal products is super important and helps me to stay creative and reinvent dishes and ingredients.
I would really like to get in touch more with the ingredients I work with everyday; know where they grow, how they grow, help growing them myself ... No better place than a real farm to do this.

Besides learning and sharing about food and products I also love getting to know new people and share experiences.
I studied Italian in University so my basic level is quite good, but I would really like to dive deeper into the Italian language again.

Really looking forward to my next adventure in Italy!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Lauren:
I worked as an editor for three years so I have good language skills in Dutch, English and even French and Italian. Besides that I'm an organized person with a sense of responsibility and leadership.

I also worked at different restaurants and coffee bars. So I am a waitress and barista.
I love to cook (vegan, seasonal and local) and experiment with ingredients. This is something I taught myself over the years, with the help of good cookbooks (love Ottolenghi).

I am a quick learner and I am open to learn knew things and explore my own capacities.

Ine:
In highschool I studied economics and languages, so I have some language skills in Dutch, English, and a little bit of French and German. I have a degree in Business, specialized in International Marketing and another one in Graphic and Digital Media.
The passed 4 years I worked as a brand designer for an agency, so if you need help with your branding or any kind of (creative) offline and online communication, I'm your girl!

I lived by myself for 3 years now, so it's safe to say that I know how to "run a household". I know how to keep a place clean, efficiently organize my stuff and provide myself (and others) with a decent meal. I'm not as great of a cook as my dearest Lauren, but I'm not bad in the kitchen either!

I'm eager to learn and happy to help wherever I can! :-))
