Hello there!☀️

We are Laura and Gianna, a couple traveling through Latin America with a strong passion for the ocean, sustainability, and cultural exchange.

🌊 About Laura
I am a Divemaster, ocean advocate, photographer, and storyteller with a B.A. in Product Design. My background includes hands-on coral restoration work, and I currently work part-time as Manager of SSI’s Blue Oceans Program, focusing on communication, education, and community engagement. I enjoy combining design and storytelling to raise awareness about the ocean. Outside of work, I love freediving, hiking, climbing, yoga, and being outdoors. I've been traveling and volunteering all over Mexico and Central America for the past 2 years.

🤿 About Gianna
I am a PADI Staff Instructor and English writing tutor with experience in education and research. I have worked in hospitality and volunteered at different types of projects including farms, animal shelters, language schools, and tour operators. In my free time I enjoy cooking, reading, practicing yoga, and connecting with nature. I'm happiest when I'm outside, working with my hands on a random craft or project, or sharing experiences with others. But my true happy place is underwater.

We’re looking to contribute our skills and energy to meaningful projects — whether through diving and conservation, education, communication, or community initiatives. We both enjoy learning from others, sharing our knowledge, and supporting sustainable and conservation-focused work.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Laura:
I'm a Divemaster and Designer with a passion for ocean conservation, visual design, communication, and storytelling. I love diving into photography and video editing during my free time.

I’m currently working as a freelancer for the SSI Blue Oceans Program where I am also responsible for social media management, communication, and education.

During my university days, I spent a lot of time in workshops, getting hands-on with wood and metal, so I have some experience in building stuff and like getting creative with drawings as well.

During my work as a volunteer for an NGO in Fiji, I gained experience in underwater coral restoration, organizing community workshops, and developing workshop materials.

I'm all about blending creativity and practicality, share experiences and skills and I'm excited to bring my skills and passion to your project!

Gianna:
I’m a PADI scuba diving instructor and love to be in the ocean. Teaching scuba diving is my main occupation when I am not travelling.

I have a few years of experience in animal care, particularly with dogs and cats. I have cared for my own animals, rescued wild animals at sanctuaries for animals that ended up in the exotic pet trade, and handicapped and abused shelter dogs. I have special experience working closely with handicapped dogs for over a year.

I enjoy growing things and tending to my own gardens. I’ve also volunteered on small-scale farms. I have experience with creating various types of compost pits.

I love cooking! I am a vegetarian and I love being creative in the kitchen. I also have a lot of experience with fermentation and using herbs, oils, and other natural ingredients to make soaps, deodorant, candles, and other personal hygiene products.

I have worked for 8+ years as an English teacher in various capacities, including one-on-one tutoring and classroom settings. My main focus is in academic writing.

Was noch ...

Laura: I love hiking, going on adventures, sleeping outside, and just being surrounded by nature and people who are as passionate about the environment as I am. I also like to experiment with vegan cooking and eat and laugh together. My happy place is usually underwater freediving or scuba diving and looking at the world beneath the waves. I started snowboarding a few years ago and just started learning how to surf. Further, I enjoy Latin dancing and would be happy to get some more practice in salsa.

Gianna: I am always looking to try something new, and I generally have a bunch of different hobbies at once instead of trying to perfect just one thing. Feeding people and making them feel at home is my way of showing I care. Generally, I’d rather be in or under water than on land. That being said, I’ve recently started bouldering and it is definitely one point for “land”.
