[At the moment looking for long-term host in South Europe roughly between 12/2025- 02/2026]

Hello future host!

We are Sauli (full Finn), Laura (Argentinian/Finn), Manuela (labrador retriever, 10 year-old nomad).

We are couple in our fourties travelling to Italy, France and/or Spain during this winter. During the summer we have a small permaculture-type farm in Finland, where we grow herbs and try to fix everything using recycled material. During the summer we are workaway hosts ourselves. For the winter we're escaping the cold and dark in our van.

Laura is biochemist/farmer, artisan in crafts and philosophies, Sauli is an engineer in safety and environment and has to work online 18 h/week, Manuela is extremely friendly, professional food beggar and an senior canine.

We are flexible in our dates. But once we agree on dates with someone, we will fix our own dates accordingly. We're grown-up and understand our commitment. We write only to hosts that we're seriously interested in. So, in return it would be great for the hosts to have the courtesy of answering at least a simple 'No, thank you'.

We're leaving from Finland in October 2025, and are heading to south. The aim is to be reaching the mediterranean sea around December. As Sauli will be working online, we're interested in housesitting or something where the workhours can be flexible, for example. We're open to discuss options and terms (for example less hours and only housing, or what ever would be good for both sides).

Our reviews are a bit old as we have been on a break from volunteering for a few years.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Both: we are fast learners, versatile and can follow instructions. We speak three languages (ok, Sauli's Spanish is not great, but has been getting better). We're reliable and responsible.

Laura: I'm creative, but practical in making a plan into reality. I can invent a lot of solutions if I have the possibility. I can cook, sew and make hand-crafts. I am biochemist and know a bit about medical practice. For the last 5 years I've been running our herb farm growing different herbs and making infusions, spice mixes and skin balms.
Sauli: I'm an engineer in health & safety and environmental management. I've been helping at our farm, so I can use power tools (trimmers, chainsaws, power drills, etc you need at a farm). I'm really tall, so I come in handy when reaching for the top shelf! I have an international firewood chopping career!

We're both used to physical labour. Once we've been instructed we can take care of many tasks independently. Examples of tasks we've done: built a polytunnel + 4 greenhouses, sheep fencing, kitchen cabinets, a 50 sqm pool, gardening, weeding, strimming, cutting grass and planting, clearing land, painted lot of things, b&b housekeeping...

We would really like it if our dog could stay with us (inside during the night). She's part of the family.
