Hi! We are Kristína and Dávid, a creative couple from Slovakia. Kristína is an illustrator and editor-in-chief of a children’s magazine, and Dávid is an illustrator as well, currently working as a 2D graphic artist in a game studio, creating mobile games.

One of our biggest motivations for joining Workaway is the chance to travel in a more meaningful way. We’ve learned that changing environments regularly really nourishes our creativity – new places, people, and everyday routines naturally find their way into our work. As visual creators, this kind of inspiration is incredibly valuable to both of us.

We both work with storytelling. We focuses on books – illustrating, designing, and, of course, reading them. Creativity is a big part of our everyday life, whether it’s visual, narrative, or hands-on.

We truly love animals – especially cats, they are our biggest soft spot. We enjoy spending time in nature just as much as in cities. We’re happiest when we can explore a place through its atmosphere: galleries, bookstores, parks, or just wandering around. We also really enjoy cycling – it’s one of our favorite ways to discover new places.

We would describe ourselves as calm and positive people. We’re practical, responsible, and easy to be around. We enjoy a balanced rhythm of work and quiet time, but we’re also open and curious when it comes to new experiences and people.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We are both very hands-on and practical people who genuinely enjoy working and helping out.

One of our biggest joys is taking care of animals – especially cats. We truly love spending time with them, caring for them, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable. If your place includes any furry companions, we’ll be more than happy (and excited) to help.

As illustrators, we are naturally creative and detail-oriented, but our skills go far beyond that. Dávid is very handy and great at fixing things – whether it’s small repairs, maintenance, or figuring out practical solutions, he enjoys working with his hands and isn’t afraid of a challenge. Kristína is very organized, reliable, and good at keeping things running smoothly, whether it’s planning, coordinating, or managing everyday tasks.

Together, we work really well as a team – smoothly, efficiently, and with a good sense of rhythm. We often say we work like Swiss clockwork, and it truly reflects how naturally we coordinate with each other.

Over the years, we’ve both had a wide range of experiences – from making and repairing things to helping with various practical tasks. We are friendly, adaptable, and not afraid of hard work. We like to stay useful, learn new things, and leave a place better than we found it.
