There are a few aspects that have brought me to workaway, the main ones being my desire to learn new skills, to meet beautiful people and to tie all of these together with my love of travel, whilst allowing me to stay in the same palace and settle for a short period. Whilst I have not done this before I have volunteered at a couple of festivals within the UK and love getting involved.

In my day to day life I am an accountant, so I am very used to spending a lot of time in front of the computer, and therefore I am looking to re-balance that and to cultivate another side of my passion.

I have recently spent 3 and a half months travelling around Asia solo and now I want to take some time to visit europe. I have a lot of energy and I am happiest when doing things. My hobbies include bouldering, climbing, cycling, yoga, cold water immersion as well as reading, building spreadsheets and cooking.

My ethos is to live a life that spreads kindness and joy.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I completed a degree in maths and then pursued a career as a chartered accountant, through which I have developed a strong organisational and logical approach to tasks. I primarily focused on systems efficiency and improvements through developing tools for employees to use, both in regards to stock and warehouse management, and large financial project management.

I am keen to develop more practical skills. I have done some domestic woodworking, from making and hanging shelves through to wooden swords, wardrobes, doors and woodstores.

I enjoy general garden and smallholding maintenance. My end goal is to have my own permaculture smallholding. Over last summer I cleared land, relocated animals, built coops from repurposed farmyard materials and picked/pressed apples.

January 2024 also saw my first attempt at a live willow structure, where I wove a short fence (10m). Whilst this wasn’t wholly successful I am keen to try again and I am booked to go and coppice some whips in January 2025.

I have done various bits of home maintenance from demolition of internal walls, hanging curtains, painting, sealing bathtubs (I don’t want to do any more sealing!) and basic domestic plumbing.

On a more recreational note I have volunteered at many festivals, organising and managing crowds. I enjoy cycling, climbing and yoga. I have helped out in bike workshops repairing bicycles and participated in multiple bike maintenance workshops.

Was noch ...

I spend a lot of time outdoors whether this is hiking, running or just going for a walk around the local pond to get some fresh air.
I play a lot of games, recently this is focussing on escape room style board games. Otherwise anything with a logic element such as hanabi, crew and the newest one I've tried is shipwreck arcana.
Whilst I don't play an instrument I am passionate about music and listen to a range of genres from rock to reggae to indie.
I have taken up a number of creative projects, such as making wall art out of beer labels, constructing complex Halloween costumes and creating scrapbooks for all of my trips.
