Beschreibung

We are a couple from Canada travelling with our 3 year old kid. We are both taking one year off from work to discover South America, take time to meet good people and show the world to our son. He is very friendly and loves to meet new people.
This trip is a long time dream that we are finally realizing.

Back home, Jonathan works as an engineer on hydroelectric plants, he rock climbs, bikes and kayaks.
Maika is a specialized educator who works with elderly people and kids with learning difficulties. She cross country skis every time she has a chance.
We both share a love for the outdoor, and get to canoe in the local rivers for little expeditions.

When there is some free time, we love to play music, either on guitar or join a group for a jam.

We are both open to teaching languages during our stay. Maika is fluent in English and French. She has a good level of Spanish as well. Jonathan is fluent in Spanish, French and English Our mother tongue is French

Jonathan
I am a mechanical engineer with good understanding of electrical systems, specializing in grid connection of renewable energy systems. I have worked on site on hydroelectric turbines, wind turbines and solar systems since 2010 and have a good experience designing, troubleshooting and installing such systems.
I have worked in machining shops many years I have completed many renovations of our house, working on every systems of the house (concrete, walls, HVAC, electric, piping) and car.
I also enjoy gardening and am willing to help and learn.

I speak fluent Spanish, English and French

Maika
I have volunteered to work with kids in Guatemala, as the director in a social center of a small community.
I can help garden, cook, and babysit kids.
In past volunteer experiences, I worked in permaculture crop.

We will have to take care of our 3y.o. son, Emile. We understand that this may affect somewhat the level of work we can provide. Not to worry, Jonathan works for 2 people. :)

I speak fluent French, English and good level of Spanish

Maika is currenly taking a class to become a therapeutic clown. She also sings pretty well, but requires simple lyrics.

Jonathan loves to have late conversations around kitchen table.

Emile (3yo) loves inventing songs, likes cars and trucks and likes to meet new people and cuddle.
