Beschreibung

We are a married couple living in Stockholm, Sweden. John is from Ireland and Paula is from Sweden. Our dream is to build a self-sustaining village but we have a lot to learn before that dream can become a reality. We believe Workaway hosts should be some of the best people to learn from.

Paula is studying aquaponics and would love to work with aquaponic, hydroponic, fish or algae farming. John is more into construction and is looking at solutions for sustainable homes.

We have rather calm and quiet personalities and we're used to living on our own so we don't need to be entertained or cooked for but we would of course enjoy spending time with our hosts when it suits them. We don't use drugs of any kind.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We are pretty good at figuring out things and solving challenges together. John has experience from construction and Paula has started and run her own company in a foreign country (Thailand) which included everything from staff management, online marketing and building maintenance.

Both of us have lived in the countryside for a number of years but not as farmers, we've just occasionally helped out in stables and barns.

Our motivation for volunteering through workaway is to learn the practical parts of sustainability, growing crops, taking care of animals, building things etc. There is only so much you can learn from online courses and YouTube and we need to get our hands dirty and do the work, so we can guarantee we won't be lazy.
