Hello!
My name is Jessica (As I am sure you already read at the top of my profile) and here's a short little introduction.

The first thing you must know about me is that I LOVE animals and no, I do not have a favorite animal, I love them all so dearly. I've included some of my favorite photos of my little family of four leggeds. I've grown up around animals of all kinds, cats ,dogs, horses, and even a guinea pig once and I'm always open to meeting more.

My main takeaway that I would like from Workaway is to get to see the world and if I can even get a glimpse of it's beauty, I'd be more than pleased. I've only seen a small amount of the world so far but I long to see as much as my life will allow. I am also dying to get my hands dirty and learn more about farming, sustainability, and land stewardship as my relationship to the land and my ability to care for it is one of the main driving forces in my life.

I come from the prairies of Western Canada where my blood has been a part of the landscape for thousands of years as my people are the Metis/Cree. As such, indigenous sovereignty and liberation are major topics in my life that I am very passionate about advocating for. I love the natural beauty of creators creations, from the smallest bird to the tallest tree, from the deepest ocean to the most shallow pond.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have spent the majority of my life befriending and surrounding myself with creatures of all species. Dogs, horses, cats, sheep, a bit of everything that you can find in southern Saskatchewan. I have also, somewhat recently, finally been able to pursue my interest in mechanics which has always been something I've wanted to learn. I can change oil and do other basic maintenance on engines but I have much to learn and I want to learn, I would love nothing more than to learn the complete ins and outs of engines. I have experience writing professionally for a small local newspaper as well. My aptitude to learn is what I am most proud of, I can learn anything I'm interested in and I learn it well.
