Hey there! I´ll be travelling to Perth in March with my girlfriend. Looking to experience Australian culture and learn about the history.

Beschreibung

Hi there, my name is Jens! I grew up in the north of Germany and I am currently studying history and political science. I am a person of many interests and therefore love diving into new adventures like travelling and getting to know the culture and history of a country.
Generally speaking, I’m an optimistic, open minded and cheerful person, who is able to find happiness in whatever life brings. I am sociable and easygoing, and regarding work, my motto is to get things done, rather than just talking about it!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

My father owns a transport company, so ever since I was a young boy I have been working within his business. Therefore, I am experienced with all kinds of manual labor, such as constructing, grinding all kinds of surfaces, painting, driving a wheel loader and a forklift, cleaning cars and trucks and carrying heavy objects, just to name a few things. To make it short, I am used to manual labor, and doing all kinds of odd jobs. Basically, my job at my father's company is to be available when and whereever help is needed. In addition, I am familiar with in taking initiative and seeing work where it needs to be done. I would be happy to help and assist your projects!

Next to my phyiscal labor skills, I have a lot of experience in social and intercultural fields. For example, after high school I volunteered in Spain for a year. Here, I worked for an organization that took care of people with mental disabilities, migrants and elderly people. Thus, I am able to speak Spanish fluently and teach it at a beginner level. The same applies for German, which is my mother tongue. Next, I volunteered for different organizations such as Amnesty International or my town's local youth council when I was in highschool. My biggest project during this time was in 2015, when a a few others and I established an organization to help refugees in my town. In brief, I am comfortable to work in any area connected to social work, with all kinds of persons and groups. I learned how to speak freely in front of people and I am able to find solutions, as well as communicating through cultural barriers. For example, I organized events and workshops and I think my experience abroad allows me to adapt better and faster to different situations!
And of course, growing up in a family with siblings and working parents, I am able to do basic household work like cooking, cleaning, basic gardening and so on.

Was noch ...

I love to do sports, such as soccer, jogging or even wrestling. Usually, I also do some hours of conditioning every week. My biggest passion however, is history. I love to visit museums and learning about the history of the places I go. Also I enjoy sharing a beer, meeting new people and partying every once in a while!
