Beschreibung

Hi, I’m Jean, a 27 year old French guy. I was living in Lille, northern France for almost 4 years and come from Auvergne, a regional countryside around old volcanoes of Massif Central.

I recently quit my engineering job after 3 years working on mechanical systems of trains, subway and tramway. Even though the job was really interesting, I felt it was the time to stop it, step back and enjoy new adventures. I think that letting myself explore new environments, new experiences, new peoples with their own stories/cultures is for me the best way to open even more my mind and my spirit, and after all the best way to constantly grow up.

To illustrate my travel experiences : I spent 10 days alone in Mallorca and met people from all around the world in hostels to finally share my trip with some of them. I also travelled from Lille to Bretagne and made a 2000 km road trip with my car which was also my home for nearly 2 weeks, it was my best experience so far. I travelled as a backpacker with a friend as well, we made a 2 weeks walk/auto-stop trip in west-south of France and we did the same in Croatia a few years after, we made a tour of this beautiful country. Whenever I can, I try to travel, even for a week-end city-trip, that’s how I visited many cities/regions of France as well as Belgium, Netherlands, South-Germany, Malta and currently Greece. I already did different kinds of trips and now I’m really excited to live a new adventure of my life as a volunteer. I just spent more than 2 weeks in an eco-village under construction next to Petrokerasa, Greece where I was able to do many different kind of work and where I met really intersting and inspiring people. That just comfort me in my mindset to help people in their life projects.

I’m sociable and kind, I love helping others as much as I can, working hard, meeting new people and being enriched by them. I love discovering new techniques, work approach and mindset as well and being inspired by it.

And now, why do I want to visit Portugal ? I definitely want to experiment southern Europe countries. Greece has always inspired me by its history, food, and landscapes and I really enjoy it so far. I'm really intersted to visit Portugal as well, I had so many positiv feedbacks from this country. I’m also really excited to meet local people, share our cultures and have fun together !

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Due to my first workaway experience in eco-village under construction in Greece I did many differents things : repairing chairs, building a terrasse in natural stones, gardening for permaculture, moving furnitures from place to another, cooking and cleaning, cut wood for fire and even clear solar panel from 20cm of snow !

I was working part-time or on holidays as a student and had some experiences in fast-food, supermarket or home-products stores. To me, at work, it’s important to give the best I can to provide the best result. I like learning to be able to fulfill my mission as I did in my student-jobs and my first engineer job.
I am motivated and I hope to learn quickly by your side !

Was noch ...

I am used to living with people around and I really appreciate it. I shared an accommodation with 7 peoples during a year so I know the importance to be clean and respectful with people I live with. I love taking care of people who live around me, cooking for them, appreciate deep discussions about life, self-growth, ideas and anything we will enjoy to discuss together !
