Hello Everyone,

My name is Jared, I am 24 years old, and I cannot wait to go on the adventure of a lifetime this year! The list of places in the world I want to explore are honestly, almost endless, but I am starting with a trip to America with my sister that we originally had planned in 2020, and then I will be travelling/exploring solo after that in the UK/Europe.

Some things I love to do are:

- Play the guitar - I’ve been playing for ~15 years now on the acoustic guitar, and have even taught a few students along the way.
- Sport - any kind of physical activity or game, I am in! I have played a lot of sports as I’ve grown up, including; basketball, netball, tennis, rowing and golf.
- Board games/card games - my family played a lot of games up at the table together. I believe it is an amazing way to connect/bond with others, just have some fun, and yes, get competitive from time to time. Any kind of game whether it’s with a deck of cards, or a board and a bunch of pieces, I will gladly learn it and have fun doing so.
- Trying new things - I haven’t always been like this, but more often now I’m interested in trying something a bit different and getting out of my comfort zone a little bit more. I know this is also going to happen A LOT while I’m travelling, which I am really looking forward to!

A big reason for why I signed up to Workaway, is because I wanted to get the real experience in the different countries I travel to, rather than only getting the tourist experience. That’s not to take away from the incredible places there are to see as a tourist, those places are famous for very good reasons, but I wanted to get an understanding/appreciation of the true beauty in different countries, the people, the nature, the food, the languages, and anything else there is to try/learn.

I am more than happy to do a language exchange and teach/help anyone learn English. I am starting to learn a bit of French, so I would love to keep doing that. Also very interested in learning other languages too, so I will happily learn anything you can teach me :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I wouldn’t call myself an expert in anything in particular. However, I do have an above average skill level in; teaching guitar, social media, website design/management, social media advertising/marketing and website automated chat bots.
My Mum has a garden that I help her with from time to time, I’m by no means a highly skilled gardener, but I’m fit, and don’t mind getting my hands a bit dirty if need be.

Was noch ...

I enjoy reading a great book, that sucks you in for hours on end; especially if the weather outside is dark & gloomy.
Cooking has been a developing interest of mine, trying some different recipes etc.
I'm unsure if this will be relevant in many places, but I’ve worked on a Golf Course, and therefore am very capable of driving golf carts, communicating with visitors/members of all ages and demographics.
