Beschreibung

Hi, I am Janine and I am currently taking a break from my career as a food commodities buyer in Germany. After spending several years in the office, I’ve decided to go out and travel for a longer period again. Spending time in Canada was my dream since I am a kid so that is where I want to go now :)

A bit about me:

I have a deep passion for cooking and love experimenting with new recipes. Whether it’s traditional dishes or trying out something new, I find joy in creating meals that bring people together.
I also really enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking, gardening or simply exploring nature. Unfortunelty in my current daily life this is not a big of a thing as I would hope to.
Family is very important to me and I enjoy the moments I spend with my niece (4) and nephew (2). I get a lot of energy by spending time with them and seeing the world through their eyes.
I usually have book on my hand and read whenever I find the time.

Why Workaway? I’m excited to join the Workaway community because I believe it’s a wonderful opportunity to exchange cultures, learn new skills and contribute to local projects. I also believe that you can only get to know a culture really if you are only surrounded by locals on a day to day basis. I’m eager to share my cooking skills, help with outdoor projects and support in any way I can. I believe with my german working attitude I can be a good match.

I’m looking forward to meeting new people, learning about different cultures and making meaningful connections. I hope to contribute positively to your project and create lasting memories together.

I am very interested in learning new languages. I did have Spanish in School from class 6 to 10. In general I like to learn some phrases to order my food e.g. in every country/ city I go to.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I think bullet points are the easiest, so here they are:
- I studied Business administration in Bachelor and Masters degree
- Done an apprenticeship in wholesale and international trade
- worked on a tree farm in Australia for 3 months while doing a work and travel program
- I did two internships in a Kindergarden for school
- I helped school kids with their home work for 2 years
- I do a lot of handy work myself in my flat and we also built my kitchen together with my mum by ourselves from a used one
- I renovated my flat by myself when moving in (painting walls, drilling, setting up furniture and pictures on the wall)
- For my boyfriends side business I created their website and did their social media presence and content planning for nearly a year

Was noch ...

For sports I usually cycle everywhere with my bike and I also do Ju-Jutsu in my free time which is a combat sport. I am not the best in it but it is always fun.
With my friends we do a lot of game nights, where we bring board games e.g. and just play the whole night.
