My name is Jamie, and I am 18 years old. I live in France, near Paris, and have an English mother and French father. The main reason why I decided to go on a gap year and join workaway is because I want to explore the world and discover what life has to offer. I don't want to live my life in an office and not experience other cultures and peoples. I'm truly happy when I'm learning or experiencing something new, when I'm outside and being active, when I'm meeting interesting people. I'm happy when I feel like I'm LIVING. I am very open to anything, I have a positive mindset on life, and I love a challenge. My hobbies include football, running, cycling, reading, and music.

In terms of hard skills, I am fairly proficient in technical areas, such as plumbing, electrics, welding, or DIY. I am no expert, but I am very willing to apply my know-how and learn more. Any kind of hands-on work is welcome, and I consider myself a strong and fit individual, which may come in handy as well.
For soft skills, I speak English and French fluently. I am good at public speaking and communication. I am proactive, hard-working and am a competent leader.

Was noch ...
For the first half of my gap year, I went to Zimbabwe for a programme called Quest Africa. It was a 5 month course with the aim of becoming a well-rounded and competent individual. It focused on character development, adventure, and learning life skills. With that under my belt I consider myself a very open and capable young man, and will have lots of stories to talk about. I also love ball sports, card and board games, or even talking about psychology and life. Finally, I am training for a half Iron Man (a triathlon event), so I will be waking up fairly early to train for that.
