Hello! My name is Jack, a friendly, hardworking traveller from the UK eager to enrich my travelling experience by immersing myself in new experiences and cultures beyond the backpacker hostels. I am enthusiastic, adaptable, and a hands-on individual who is keen to bring my working skills and friendly manner to help you out in your home

I have worked in local government (Children’s Services) and academic administration after a solid foundation in hospitality. Before bartending in Queenstown, New Zealand during my last backpacking adventure, I worked at McDonald’s for 5 years while balancing study at school and university.

Across a wide range of workplaces, I can reliably apply his resilient work ethic and interpersonal skills to become a solid team member in any scenario.

Outside of work, I am keen to meet new people and experience different lifestyles and setups, which is why I am excited about Workaway. Alongside travelling, I love spending time outside (especially spent in nature), creative projects (I play piano and guitar), keeping active, and keeping social. Equally, I am comfortable with busying myself with quiet tasks and independent work.

I am a keen learner and persevere well, so you can trust me to rise to any challenge with a positive attitude. After all, I aim to be an excellent, helpful guest in your home.

I am RSA-certified, have a valid subclass 417 Working Holiday visa, and am flexible with hours, start dates, and tasks. I can also readily provide references at your convenience.

Jack:
Operational support in local government and academic administration: liaison with police, health, education, and families; pastoral support, data management, minute-taking, recordkeeping. Bartending, waiting, fast food customer service, housekeeping, educational leadership, events promotion and management, fundraising. Holds a First-class History degree from the University of Manchester.

Millie:
Supervisor role in marketing (social media, events promotion and management, creative projects, stakeholder management). Supervisor roles in bartending and restaurant work; babysitting, teaching assistance (ballet), caregiving, customer service, housekeeping, full drivers licence.
